There are only two reasons you do brain dead bozja. You like spending hundreds of hours to get a relic weapon, or you wanted a brain dead fate train farm to level lower level classes. The fact that these zones die the instant the new expac comes out tells you everything you need to know about how "fun" they are. They also make it so it is next to impossible to go back and get your relic if you were not on the initial wave, I would rather heavensward grind again, at least that was something doable later. Good luck getting through Bozja's mind numbing relic grind in DT with anything other than hours of waiting on party finder or a group of friends willing to carry you.

The last expansion was a move in the right direction, any player could get a relic, not just the no lifers who were willing to grind for hundreds of hours. Should it have been more complex than "give me tons of poetics and do the very divisive hildibrand quests?" yes. But I personally never want to see a Eureka or Bozja ever again. Far too much dev effort to create content that is insta dead as soon as the new expansion hits.

Actually there are plenty of people who still do it, pre 7.0 I went it, there were so many people that there were multiple zones, it was congested, so obviously some people do like it, for some reason I dont understand, but still, they do.

I love the tough endgame grind zones. They're the only aspect of the game that provides a sense of progression due to the long grind and a sense of community as you have to group up with other people to fight the mobs and you get acquainted with the regulars. It keeps me playing after I finish the visual novel story. I was pretty disappointed that Bozja only got two zones, and Endwalker had none so I didn't play FF14 as much. Only thing I really did during the EW patches was play more Eureka.

I overall preferred Eureka due to it having four zones, the wilderness feel, and the Magia Board. The second zone with the sleeping dragons you have to walk past, and having to drop down steep cliffs to land onto narrow ledges was cool, wish they did more like that. I also liked the light character customization from the 3rd zone onwards where you could turn your Samurai into a tank, wish FF14 had more build customization. I did not like Bozja as much. Again only two zones, visually ugly, and I felt the mobs were easier than in Eureka. I did like the Critical Engagements, though, which prevent people from running away to heal to full or prevents people from graveyard zerging the fight. Wish CEs were the standard. Castrum and Dalriada were also nice, but they're script corridor raids which I prefer only to do once. I did like the two somewhat WoW-esque encounters with the final fight of Castrum where a B-team has to detach from the main group to go fight Lyon, and the penultimate fight of Dalriada where you fight two bosses at once. No idea why FF14 doesn't do more of those. It was pretty disappointing that Matsuno's storyline was cancelled. Was looking to part 3 with going to the IVth Legion's capital of Lea Monde and fighting against Gabranth.

Then stop waiting for fates like a loot goblin.
Actively work to spawn them like it was designed to do.

    First off:

the Boss-Fates we got in Bozja/Zadnor are designed in a way that I'd love too see outside of Bozja/Zadnor ^^

    Second:
if I recall correctly the majority seemed to be fine (many even liked/loved it) with Eureka and Bozja. Yoshi said something like that a couple of years back. It's way more interesting, especially when I think back what the last expansions relic-system was like. That was a lazy effort.

You could only claim that Bozja or Eureka "died" when new expansions come out if you've never actually done them.
Obviously they're not super-crowded in like, expansion release week. But they're still active, and have very active communities around them, especially for Baldesion Arsenal and Delubrum Reginae.

I can say with certainty that I did, or attempted both in about 6.1-6.2 and those were dead. I was frequently the only one in Eureka zones and Bozja was all people just farming z3 fates in zadnor and maybe 2 people anywhere else. The instances were absolutely impossible to get enough people to get a run of and not having the riding maps at the start was abysmal. Getting a Delibrum queue to pop with more than 3 people also was a weeks long endeavor. There is a problem with longitevity on these piece of content and to ignore them is asinine.

I don't know if other DCs are somehow a complete 180 from Chaos, but I properly started Eureka around 6.1 as well and never had any issues with it in terms of activity.
Sure, the leveling grind was slow, but then it was a lot worse anyway when it was current.

Delubrum, I've never seen anyone queue. Only party finder or otherwise premade groups. Which I've also never struggled to find. Sure, it's not always crowded, but it never felt undoable.
And after first clear, there's an alternative for most options that you can do inside Bozja.

There are no alternatives until you beat all of Bozja, you must complete the entire story to get the full relic. Also the alternatives are laughable at times like the timeworn step which is "run the deadest content ever in DR 5 times" or "run POTD for 200+ floors and pray for RNG"
Eureka I legitimately had to give up beacuse the underpopulated areas felt impossible. I popped back in around 6.4 on dynamis and it was just 2-3 people yelling at me to leave so they could respawn an NM every 15 minutes.

Eureka is almost always busy though?
