I am apart of multiple FFXIV Discord servers, and I never ever hear as much negativity about the expac as I see here on the forums. In addition, most people I speak to in the actual game seem to like the expac.
Twitter's a mix, but SE's accounts are blocking people that tag them with negative posts. Reddit, user reviews, the official forums, and imageboards(which are more mainstream in Japan) are pretty overwhelmingly condemning it across multiple languages.
