Same here, i was expecting so much with the new graphical update and got the exact opposite effect.
I've been playing since ARR launch and for the first time i see myself forced to just do crafting and ignore combat job content, its either that or quit the game.

Just waiting it out to see if SE does anything about the miriad of issues the new graphical update brought up all over the forum sections.

Day 8 of waiting for the devs to do something about an issue that literally stops people from playing the game. Fun times.

lol.. I get that you're the OP that started this whole thread in the first place, but I'm not sure why you feel the need to come at me like that. If you go back and read all 22 pages, you'll see that it's actually a mixed bag on the issues; two of the main being blurry upscaling and not being able to disable bloom/glare.

And to further set things straight, you literally just contradicted yourself lmao.

The issues you described are literally graphics issues lmao. People are complaining about the graphics, seeing as how that's exactly what is making the game unplayable for a lot of people (myself included).

Maybe I misunderstood your articulation, but we're both trying to fight for the same thing: graphics settings that work and aren't eyebleed.

Welp, I'll be damned. I almost missed this little bit from Yoshi-P's latest post:

It has been a joy to watch you all play, each in your own unique way, but we’ve become aware of several issues that may have proven a hinderance to your overall experience. For that, I sincerely apologize. We’ve already announced on the Lodestone that a number of these issues are presently under investigation, but rest assured we will be doing everything in our power to address them as quickly as possible. You can expect a follow-up announcement as soon as fixes are ready for implementation.

I'm probably just becoming delusional, but is this what I think it might be? It's impossible to tell due to his almost politician-level vague manner of speech, but with any luck this is proof that the devs might actually be working on a solution. Here's hoping.

If you haven't sent a support ticket about this eye strain issue yet, please do so at your earliest convenience. The more people we get to voice their problems, the more manpower they'll (hopefully) assign to deal with the issue.

DLSS and FSR both have blur, the only option in-game is to make it 99 render scale with FSR but then it creates way too much sharpness. Give us the option to not use either, and before people say "but FSR with 100% means it's not enabled" this is not true, FSR still for some reason has blur, when it shouldn't at 100%.

The only viable option right now if you're using Nvidia is to enable DLSS, then add Game Filter through Nvidia Experience (ALT+f3) and use the Sharpen filter, set this to 20%. Don't use Sharpen+ this is an FPS hog.

I want to see all the current accessibility issues addressed whether they affect me directly or not

Glare, scaling, mount banking, colorblind options on consoles and options on consoles in general..

I also have never liked the font used for certain parts of the HUD like the exp bar but I've just suffered with its poor readability for ages because the info isn't that important hah

What was that a post from? I haven't really looked at the Lodestone in a couple days. The only reference to any issues mentioned by him in the past week that I could find was from this post there back on the 30th: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...8406d28f47a951

Sorry to be a pessimist, but it doesn't seem that he is referring to the graphics issues we've been facing and talking about. The only graphical issue I saw being mentioned was:

"We have identified an issue that affects aspects of certain playable races during the execution of certain emotes and the scholar action, Seraphism. The cause is a result of incorrect values being input for the corresponding parts during fine-tuning of the graphical update and other fixes."

Maybe I missed something. Honestly, I really hope I did, because it seems like the issues that have been brought up in this thread so far have flown completely under the radar. I'd be surprised if we ever even get a fix since it seems like we might be in the minority at this point. Maybe not though.

Either way, we can still hope!

Bump, this is unacceptable to let the game remain like this.

Edit: reminder that for me specifically the glare makes the game unplayable because it hurts my eyes, as do the shiny wet effects.

I feel like people have missed that the solution to one of these problems was already posted in here a while ago. if you want the image quality to be the same as it was before set the upscaler to FSR, set the resolution scale to 100, and set the edge smoothing to either FXAA or none. the issue here isn't FSR, its the new TSCMAA edge smoothing.
This will produce results identical to before the graphics update.

The devs definitely could have explained these new options better but you should at least try experimenting with the edge smoothing options before posting about how the game is unplayable
(still wish glare wasnt forced on)
