Professional lurker.
Since SE is lacking in the communication department, I'm hoping they meant to convey they combined some settings and not outright removed them. For some weird reason at first glance the "glare: off" option its not a glich because its stated in the patch notes that it was removed.
Now my question is, what the hell made them think it was a good idea w/o asking for feedback first, or even mentioning it during the graphic changes liveletters.
I mentioned this in an earlier post, but there was a submission in the Bug Report forums about the bloom settings that eventually got moved to "Accepted Bugs". So hopefully they didn't actually mean to remove the setting completely and accidentally disabled it instead. Maybe I'm coping but I really hope this wasn't intential lmao.
After seeing the above screenshot though, I realize my original info in the following forum link wasn't entirely accurate, but the point remains the same. Bug Forum post for anyone interested: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...ng-as-expected
LMAO! That's exactly how I felt running The Aetherfont after the 7.0 early access start. I needed that this morning, thank you! xD
Sent in my comms to support. No response 24h later. REALLY REALLY would like to play the game i'm paying money for. if this keeps up for a month i'm asking for a refund. It's currently unplayable.
It does feel like it may be causing a headache, but to early to say I certainly can feel weird after a prolonged gametime.
One thing I've found out about my eyes, as I always get headaches when playing a new game. With FF14, I think of it the same, as the graphics have all been updated.
The text has this odd blur around the letters, and some text is still quite small (even when I make things larger on the HUD). I've been daily fiddling with the graphics settings to hopefully get something that lets me play w/o issues.
I do wear glasses for my astigmatism. I can give other settings on my graphics settings if ppl think it might help.
Hello. After logging in today, I immediately noticed that the new, sharper graphics cause large amounts of eye strain for me. Talking to other people, it seems I'm at least not the only one with this issue (even if we're obviously a minority). No amount of fiddling with the graphics settings has helped alleviate the problem.
I know it's hopeless to request stuff like this, but please consider allowing players to use the old graphics (or allow us to downgrade the new ones in a way that prevents this eye strain problem) so that we can continue playing FFXIV. Currently, the eye strain caused by the game is really strong, to the point where playing the game for even 15 minutes was enough to force me to stop. FFXIV is really important to me, and I don't want that experience to end because of this.
If you've had similar experiences, please reply below and let the devs know that this is an issue worth addressing. Also, please consider reporting your experiences directly to the Square Enix support center, as well.
I've been using that AMD FSR at 99%. When I switched to NVIDIA DSLR, I can definitely see myself getting eye strain after some play. I haven't reach most of the thread but have those people having issues tried the AMD FSR option?
Yes, it has been tried, but it still doesn't remove the motion blur that has been mentioned.
Bump. I'll keep doing this for as long as it takes. We deserve our answers.
I can't remember if this game has a setting to reduce ground clutter or not. I know that was the only way we could fix several games for my sister who thanks to head injury suffers motion sickness and migraine. Basically it takes out a ton of the grass/plants that are moving around on the ground. If that setting exists maybe try that for a little relief.
In other news does anyone know if there is a way to change the splash screen when logging in? The Dawntrail one burns my eyes to the point where I log in in and look away fast. I haven't played the new content so I don't know how being in it would affect me. I am still puttering around in older zones.
