The main issue for me is the bloom/glare, I have pretty sensitive eyes and they struggle with bright lights. Even on the low setting it's still especially egregious. I don't know why they've made it so you can't turn bloom off, or if it's genuinely a glitch... for me personally that's an especially bad glitch. Makes trying to do content like PvP for example especially "fun" when people use the Phoenix mount. That mount is actually like a flashbang now because of my sensitive eyes.
Anyways, being unable to turn off bloom is leading to a bit of a miserable time for me. I'm currently recovering from a migraine the game has caused. I want to hope they'll allow us to turn things like bloom off again but the pessimist in me says this is here to stay :/
For some weird reason at first glance the "glare: off" option its not a glich because its stated in the patch notes that it was removed.
Now my question is, what the hell made them think it was a good idea w/o asking for feedback first, or even mentioning it during the graphic changes liveletters.
Anyway here goes another picture with the mentioned removal.:

Since SE is lacking in the communication department, I'm hoping they meant to convey they combined some settings and not outright removed them. For some weird reason at first glance the "glare: off" option its not a glich because its stated in the patch notes that it was removed.

I mentioned this in an earlier post, but there was a submission in the Bug Report forums about the bloom settings that eventually got moved to "Accepted Bugs". So hopefully they didn't actually mean to remove the setting completely and accidentally disabled it instead. Maybe I'm coping but I really hope this wasn't intential lmao.
After seeing the above screenshot though, I realize my original info in the following forum link wasn't entirely accurate, but the point remains the same. Bug Forum post for anyone interested: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...ng-as-expected
LMAO! That's exactly how I felt running The Aetherfont after the 7.0 early access start. I needed that this morning, thank you! xD
Give our settings back, SE.For some weird reason at first glance the "glare: off" option its not a glich because its stated in the patch notes that it was removed.

Professional lurker.
Oh my god they actually wont let you turn off the glare anymore xDDDDDDDD
Wet surfaces was good to turn off for performance too...
Yeah the graphics were updated. Updated from a 2014 game to a 2011 game xD
Been sorting through multiple posts regarding the removal of disabling the glare option. For some weird reason at first glance the "glare: off" option its not a glich because its stated in the patch notes that it was removed.

I've had it off since day one since I get incredibly bad headaches from eye strain, and with it's removal you can imagine how unhappy I was constantly being bombarded with lights/weapons/objects that looks like someone smeared Vaseline on them and being overpowering/prominent in a LOT of areas.
I understand that this can seem like a "minor" complaint for those who aren't afflicted like myself, but the reality of the fact is that it also a legitimate accessibility concern as well.
I have a few players in my free company that suffer from pin-hole like vision and only being able to see a smaller portion of your screen, and it being a BRIGHT OVERPOWERING light, is something they can't control when they've been able to in the past.
Posting this to show that this is not a "small" issue that only a few people are speaking out about, and is something that should have been at LEAST asked about from the community PRIOR to it's removal.

Yeah, that's annoying. I used the wet wall effect for my rooms, and I really liked how it looked. I wish they had left that alone. For some weird reason at first glance the "glare: off" option its not a glich because its stated in the patch notes that it was removed.

Holy moley, why would they ever think that is a good idea? I'm baffled.
That makes me want to backflip off the stage. Unbelievably ignorant.
Holy crap.
it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.
