I actually agree with this, the twin blade button could have just been a single button
Here's my problem...
I usually put all my single target stuff on the bottom bar, basic 1 through =
Then I put my AOEs on the middle bar, Shift + 1 through =
And then weird special stuff on the top bar, Ctrl + 1 through =
With the way the new combos work, I have to put an extra copy of Serpent's Tail, Twinfang, and Twinblood on both bars b/c that button turns into a single target Finisher or an AOE finisher depending. They "got rid" of the button bloat, by giving us multi-use buttons we have to put all over our bars anyway.
Or even if it is kept as two buttons, I really wish they'd merge Serpent's Tail into it. There's no reason to have THREE oGCD buttons, all of which function as "various oGCDs will pop up here when they are usable". I think the 1-2 and 2-1 double weaves of Twinfang and Twinblood add some depth, but having Serpent's Tail, and the stuff on it, separate adds literally nothing except hotbar bloat. Just make everything that's currently on Serpent's Tail show up on one of, or even BOTH OF, Twinfang and Twinblood.
Also, can we please make it so you can only cast ONE OF each of them after the twin blade attacks. Or give them a longer recast timer, 1.5-2.5s? It's almost ubiquitous to spam your oGCD buttons when double-weaving, to get that nice tight weave, but Twinfang and Twinblood have very short recast timers, and I've wasted one of the weave buffs several times because I was spamming the first one smidge longer than I should and it got queued for the second weave slot as well.
Also, Dreadwinder either needs to be a shorter GCD, or an oGCD. Or have its own oGCD follow-up similar to the 3rd combo hit, or a Twin pair like the following attacks. That long completely empty GCD feels very stilted and disruptive. It feels like there's something you should be doing during it to justify the length of the GCD. It seems to fly in the face of what otherwise feels like quite a fast-paced rotation.
HOT BAR BLOAT?!?!?!?!? the job has SIGNIFICANTLY less buttons than any other fking job, i have THREE bars empty, compared to the ZERO on most other jobs like the healers/gnb/monk/smn/literally everythingOr even if it is kept as two buttons, I really wish they'd merge Serpent's Tail into it.
