Does setting DLSS to only activate below 30 FPS help? In the benchmark, Always On DLSS is very blurry for me while setting it so it only activates under an FPS threshold I'll almost never reach leaves everything nice and crisp.I have to agree. I came on today and it was causing eye strain right away. DLSS was on by default. I either have to have DLSS on or FSR, no middle ground, i do not want either, so having FSR on with TCSMAA edge smoothing on has made it better to look at, but if you have DLSS on they is noticeable blur. It is not a placebo effect as someone said, as my partner also had the same issue. It is not pleasant.
I do not drop below 170 fps, I'd rather it was not on at all. It isn't needed by some people.
I too had eye strain from the moment i logged on without fiddling with the settings. Even after i changed settings i am still having the same problem. Hopefully squeenix will take notice and implement something.
I have dynamic resolution disabled, but it seems like it's working nonetheless (when I move, everything gets a little bit blurry, but when I stop, the environment is back to normal).
I had no idea what was meant here, since I thought the game looked a bit blurry, until I turned on dynamic resolution, and for some weird reason, it made the game look extremely sharpened (shouldn't it be the opposite?), to the point that the game looked worse than when blurry, since it is like the game is sharper than its fidelity should even allow. And then even I, who almost never has considerable eyestrain, felt it coming on like a train. Thankfully I could just turn that off though, but now the game looks a bit blurrier than before 7.0.

I logged in and did not have this issue at all. What is causing it for some?
My problem is why is the text for stuff really thin and small? the player, minion, location, npc names are all thin and small, its causing me such struggles trying to read anything, even in the chat area the "General, battle, event" tabs are small.
TSCMAA adds motion blur when the character is moving, it is VERY slight tho so maybe your eyes just have a skill issue? Also DLSS and FSR do NOT do anything as long as you have Enable dynamic resolution UNCHECKED.
The more ya know
We don't know. It's especially difficult to determine on the PS4 version due to the lack of in-depth graphical settings with which to try and find some manner of combination that counters the issue.
All I can personally say is that I had no problems like this during my 6+ years of playing FFXIV on the PS4.
