Yes, Assault go^^I would do 180 runs or any end game content or more if I was guaranteed an item like...a coin or something, 10 coins=weapon 20 coins= w/e w/e.. and its just a basic end game currency to trade things in for end gameish gear, items like darklight put at maybe upwards of 150 of these coins, lets say everyone gets 1 coin minimum for completion with additional chest, additional chance to get coins from them as drops.

1. It's not fun doing it 40+ runs and not seeing a specific drop.In a way it does, as there are pretty items in the chest. Plus, the adventure should be fun! Action is its own reward! ^.^
This is an opportunity for LS Farm/parties/etc to come up with distribution rules that ensure more fair exchange of items. Presently there is nothing preventing the party (or even LS at large) from comming up with fair distribution rules and enforcing them. (Especially since a lot of the equipment is not untradeable and can be traded much later).
It is of course up to you if you wish to force yourself to grind over and over and over for an item knowing that by the time you get it something else new will come along. You could opt to just do it for fun, and if you get something, yaay, if not, whatever ^.^. But to increase drop rates would mean that you will not allow for there to be rare items in this world. I do not think we should be in a position where we say: No, either I can get it easily, or the item does not exist.
Well, with 3 primals, 3 dungeons, 3 coffer camps, that is a fair bit of content one can cycle through. If we were, for example, to choose to do a different adventure each day, we could be kept busy for 9 days before repeating the first one. This adds variety and removes the ho-drum-grindy feeling you may be self-inflicting.
They are not creating a grindy world for us. They are creating a lovely world full of wonderous things to see and do. It is sad if we decide to focus on only one thing, obvlivious to the rest, and then feel tired out due to focusing.
This world favours those who know how to plan, how to work-together, how to pace themselves.
2. I wasn't talking about within the linkshell, I was talking about 1 linkshell will get a ton of items while another linkshell would get nothing.
3. If the content becomes exceptionally grindy there should be a token system that ensures you to get an item after grinding a certain amount of time, much like totems except each person should get maybe 1 per run then after obtaining 40 or more tokens you can opt to obtain a piece of DL that's not a body. And then you get tokens separate for doing speed runs that can be traded in for a body after a certain number are obtained.
4. There's only 2 primals. And the thing about that is most people actually doing the Speed Run farming for CC/AV now have already grinded out each of those content to no end. Which makes them not fun to do.
5. They are creating a grindy world, I know people who have done 100+ ifrits runs and still don't have all of the weapons. 40+ moogles runs an only have 1 drop. And 50+ speed runs in AV/CC and still no body drops. It's not that people are oblivious to other content, it's that people have already grinded that content until it makes them want to quit the game.
6. I'm not sure if you're implying here that I don't know how to plan, pace myself, or work together but I can ensure you that is definitely not the case for my linkshell and I.
My overall point is that people would not mind grindy content if each individual were ensured something after a certain amount of runs. For example a better primal token system, but incorporated into the dungeons. The drop rates can remain the same, but at least give us a token system that ensures an individual a drop after a certain number of runs.
An idea that I have, while still sticking to the lore is that you obtain a number of tokens per chest obtained in each run. After a massive amount of tokens are obtained then one can trade these tokens to a corpse of a member of the Darklight Crusade that spawns after defeating the final boss. Once you trade these tokens you have the option to choose from a specific set of items. These tokens can only apply to non-body pieces to keep the body pieces as exceptionally rare. Also since this token system rewards a group based on number of chests, those who are more skilled than others and can do 5 chest speed runs will obtain their rewards faster than those less skilled players.
If you think that this current world is what SE wants us to be experiencing for the success of the game you are 100% wrong. All of this content we are obtaining is just to hold us over until 2.0 comes out.
EDIT: Also it doesn't seem like you've even completed speed run yet. Please come back when you really know what the drop rates are like after doing at least 50 speed runs.

You should not have a body drop after 50 Speed runs, although I agree with the token/coin system. Maybe 100+ coins for a body drop and chance of 1 coin drop from SR chest.
Still needs to be rare, even with coin drop system.
Well if the tokens were per chest I would say like 200 coins per piece so 40 runs you can get a specific item that isn't a body. And come on no body after 50 runs? that's almost 17 hours with 20 minutes runs. I feel like your LS should be rewarded with a body after that long. Though I have lost count my LS has 2 bodies after well over 100 speed runs. My issue though doesn't fall within bodies, it's just irritating not seeing a specific (non body) item after 50 runs in that specific instance.

100 coins for body, "Body Coin" that only drops from the SR chest, and isn't guaranteed.
The other DL can stay the way it is, I'd say. By the time you get people bodies, they will have all the other crap more than likely.
Yeah that works too. Either way we need some form of insurance to keep people more encouraged.

Our linkshell is nearing some 70~80 speed runs over the past week with only so much as a single eyepatch to show for it, nothing else. Yet we look at some shells that run at the same time and the same length as we do, and they're getting one, maybe two pieces of gear per night. Yet we continue to succeed over and over to no avail.
It's just incredibly demoralizing. I really don't see how such a low drop rate is justified. I could understand for body pieces to be as low as they are, but everything else? Come on. Not every single piece of gear should have absolutely abysmal drop rates. The whole excuse of "Oh, there's other content" or "The best gear should only be available to the hardcore" is a load of BS. My linkshell does run rather hardcore. Almost every run is a speed run, and on raiding days we'll go for 6 hours+. Yet are we being rewarded? No, we're not. Not even remotely.
Other content? We've all cleared that months ago and have nothing to gain from it. The Darkhold has nothing of value other than GC seal items. Most our members are 7/7 Ifrit and Moogle, or don't care about specific weapons. All we have right now is CC/AV, and it's treating us worse than Ifrit and Moogle did in previous patches.
Not fond of the coin idea, but I like the thought of a point system. You gain points for each objective you complete in the instance, with a speed run giving the most points. All DL gear except the bodies could then be available for purchase with these points.
Seems simple, fair, and rewards effort instead of driving people to the brink of just quitting.

Yes, Endemerrin's experience is a perfect example as to why a point system should be implemented.

This. Just make the dungeon more challenging without lazily adding in speed runs to add difficulty, and make the 5th chest hard enough to get that it should grant you a body piece reward and it would be better balanced out, without feeling like you are grinding so much.1. It's not fun doing it 40+ runs and not seeing a specific drop.

Endemerrin I feel your pain. We're in a pretty similar boat (although recently we've had a little luck in AV). We're 2/million in cutters cry with the only drops being 2 sets of heavy darklight gauntlets. Thats great for the tanks in the LS, but we've yet to see a single light-DD darklight piece so its been frustrating for the LS members who are looking for those pieces. Our linkshell is nearing some 70~80 speed runs over the past week with only so much as a single eyepatch to show for it, nothing else. Also, at this point people are starting to get bored with the raids - doing a speed runs over and over isnt very exciting. And having a crappy drop rate is quite demoralizing.
