because we haven't actually seen them try and grab back unsubscribed people. ever.

but when a job has a sharp dip in players, or is deeply unpopular, it gets a rework.

ex- monk, three expansions in a row, got a rework based on it being one of the least played classes.

i don't think they'll do anything to address it before 8.0. i also don't think that the "enhanced encounter design" that they pushed back to 7.2 will fix anything, except MAYBE be a bandaid if they actually increase the amount of incoming damage to the party.

i still deserve to get to have fun.

we are playing a game to have fun, after all.

healing's just not fun for me any more, so i am choosing to do something else with my time.

it has nothing to do with "inconveniencing other players" because i honestly do not think that queues are going to be impacted that badly. thats not the metric i'm trying to put my thumb on. i've mained healers since stormblood. i am no longer maining healers. if enough people do the same, and healers drop in popularity any more than they are currently (people really don't main healers in the numbers people want to assume, they get their mastering w&m achievement and then basically don't touch them unless forced.) then square enix needs to do something on their end, because of that.

(though tanks did get mid-expac reworks, like what they did with paladin in EW, so it's not that they COULDN'T address healer problems, its that they've chosen not to, for half a decade and then a bit.)
I honestly just think most normal content will be boring with any job because of how undertuned it always is.

Ive tried not playing healers and while I do have fun with say samurai for a while it becomes just as boring, same with gunbreaker which is the most complext tank, same as bard same as black mage...

My favorite role to play in high end is healer 100% its super rewarding but then its the most boring role to play in normal content... but its not really unique to the role normal content is the issue in my opinion.
