Player's Poll: FFXIV or FFXI-2?

The point is to outline the general heading of each direction. The current state we find ourselves in will denote further casualization of the game in the future. They are not going to just suddenly about face and change the entire structure in 2.0

If this is the trend this continues it is what we can expect further of. The piss easy leveling. Rampant PLing. Lacking of challenging and substantial Endgame.

If the vote points towards players enjoying the latter option then fantastic. We've got ourselves some indication of the mindset of the players in FFXIV. It may not be the view I share but hey, then that just proves a point. That they are netting more profits catering to less involved subscribers.

the problem your poll has though, as many have pointed out, is it was completely black and white. you didn't have any middle ground which is where the majority lies. i would love to see some of the stuff from xi make its way here, but i do not want to see all of it. there was some stupid stuff in xi that i want nothing to do with so i think alot of people voted "easy mode" just to avoid those things they do not want.

i do not like the ease of the game as it sits now and i did not vote for either option you gave, but if i were forced to choose between them i've vote the easy game as well. if you want a poll that's not loaded you need to give the options for xi style game(difficult and time consuming), wow style game(pure easy mode game with alot of fun), and a combination of both. you would also not come across and pretend that anyone that doesn't want everything xi wants simple and everything just handed to them.
