Unable to use Visa debit (north American)

Except...PayPal keeps getting reverted back to Credit/Debit and fails with i2501 error. And yes, I've tried on my phone with the WiFi disabled. -- I've made a ticket and it's been "escalated".

I have about 2 months worth of Crysta so really hoping this gets resolved before that. Cannot believe it's this difficult to give a company, which I remind everyone is down 70% in profit, money.

I understand you are kinda over it at this point but if you are up for trying one more thing this might work it has for several people I know. You have to entirely remove the debit/failed card from your account. THEN you buy crysta with paypal and it should go through.

Nope. Still says "Payment Method Credit Card/Debit Card". It use to say "Payment Method PayPal". Like, this happened even before I registered a card; I thought maybe if a card was registered it might work with the Credit/Debit option since it would be 'on file'.


((And before anyone says it, I'm on the Entry sub so I can't 'just use a 60 day time card'. Oh, and you can't update your sub either. Because the credit card issue that's plaguing us.))

At the very least, Square needs to suspend Housing Demolition until this is fixed; July 24th???? Pretty much everyone affected by this, that also owns a house, will be losing it.

UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE. I can't even downgrade the number of Retainers I have to prolong my Crysta stockpile; Error i2501. What is your freaking malfunction, Square..................

Have you tried (I was told this by support) clearing out your cache and cookie files from your web browser and/or using a different web browser then what you have been?

I've tried on my phone; wifi disable, which had never even been to a Square Enix website. I tried at work, which doesn't have a VPN and also had never been to a Square Enix site.

I've tried with Chrome and Opera. This was working in March. I suspect it stopped in April, but I forgot to get Crysta, so I'm just now finding out about this cluster-duck.

Fun Fact: Can't use MS Edge because the CAPTCHA box doesn't show up. -- No adblockers of script blockers.

HOLY CRAP!

Square finally let me give them money. PayPal payment for Crysta was a success! Worked using Opera.

Don't know if it's a permanent fix. So if you got PayPal I HIGHLY recommend stocking up on Crysta and changing your sub payment method to Crysta just in case it breaks again.

Things I did this time:

I 'new tabbed' the "Add Crysta" link instead of just going to that page. No clue if having the MogStation page still up made a difference or not. But it's the only thing I did differently this try.

EDIT: Also, I'd suggest switch to the 'Standard' if you're on 'Entry'. This is because Game Time Cards cannot be applied to 'Entry' type accounts.

I agree SE needs to get it fixed it should never be a challenge to give a company money
