The fact that every person I talked to and brought up the fact that I find their ult weapons worthless because they cheated, or someone they were with cheated, then they get super pissed off and offended tells me you are as incorrect as someone can be. They have something they feel others (the majority) don't/won't have so they flaunt it. It isn't enough that most of them look terrible compared to the relics, now you can buy the things for gil... and if you wanna go against ToS buy runs with real money. Thing is most people doing ults have AM or some other form of cheats which is already against ToS so why not sell weapons too?

This is why a game can not put up with cheaters in pve, pvp, pvrpep. It is all the same, some people just making the game worse for everyone else.

They generally don't care until I bring up addons and or AM/cactbot, then they get in a tizzy about everything. Which has solidified my stance even more. The game needs an anti cheat, end of story.

IF they were to implement an anti-cheat, I'd be willing to bet the amount of people banned who use character mods would be magnitudes more than any raiders would. I would imagine the uproar from that crowd would insane.

Encountered someone once who unironically thought those character mods were the real cheats compared to cactbot or whatever. Yes including viera hats.

They'd complain with their wallets IMO. The amount of people modding is not an insignificant amount. I'm not sure what you mean by "you people", but my point is that if you think it's just combat mods that would be swept in this, you are sadly mistaken. These people leaving would more than likely have a pretty good impact on the metrics. If I had my choice, they'd finally implement addons like they said they would back in ARR Beta, but that ship sailed a long time ago.

While we the players understand there is a difference between combat mods and character/gear mods the ToS has no such distinction and never has. We as players need to understand that. Let them leave if they can't cheat in the game. I'm sure the devs that get paid good money to make content for the game don't like the disrespect of some players willfully making that content pointless for the regular, non cheating player. If you want to mod your game and chat and hang out then go do it in VR chat.

Every modern MMO has some form of anticheat, for whatever reason SE seems to continue to be about a decade late to the party.

oh get over yourself. the worth of a weapon is yours to have. people only make a game worse for you if you let them. Turtledeluxe is right the value comes from yourself. having it come from others is like living your life for someone else's dreams. you will never be happy if you do. adding anti-cheat to XIV will not fix your issue and it will not stop cheaters. every single game that has anti-cheat that is worth playing still has cheaters despite the anti-cheat claims.
no my rant isn't about helping cheaters. I'm against them too but your solution won't stop them and will likely do what every anti-cheat does. punish legit players.

fornite uses it as well and ....yeah try modding it out of that game.

oh man you actually think this means people aren't cheating in fortnite? bahahahaha. I fully believe there are loads of cheaters in that awful game. but obviously you think the anti-cheat in it actually stops them. not likely.
I fully believe as I already said. every game worth anything has cheaters of some sort. letting them bother you like this shows you don't understand how it works. the moment you add an anti-cheat to a game you invite someone to defeat it. you can bet if they added it to XIV someone would not only defeat it they would spread it like wildfire.
them adding it would be a waste of time and punish not the cheaters but legit players as EVERY anti-cheat does.

Tell me you have zero idea about how or why anti cheat programs work without telling me you have zero idea about how or why they work.

At the end of the day the only people against having one in xiv are people that take advantage of the fact there is none, aka cheaters. Almost every other online (competitive) game requires one, so xiv is the odd program out here.

what a load of garbage, you can be against anti-cheat and not be a cheater. you sir are making yourself look worse and worse with your arguments.
keep going and you will argue away every reason you have for the anti-cheat.
