Add more actions
I want a 3rd ST DRG combo
More dragon sights and more dots.
MCH and SMN needs to be given control of their summons as a playable character with a keybind that lets you swap between them so you have to swap in between GCDs and do mechanics on the character and the summon.
Every job should have at least 40 actions not including unassignables.
Actually, edit: They need to add a new DRG combo that has an infinite length, make an AI model automatically create new abilities on the fly as you progress into the combo, and each key gets automatically keymapped using an incremental modifier system so you start at Ctrl+1, then you move to Shift, then Alt, then F keys, then numpad keys(mandatory full keyboard required to play 7.0 DRG, tenkeyless are a kids toy get a real keyboard) then if the fight is longer than 10 min it starts using voice commands using your mic.
Console players are gonna need to buy a steering wheel with stick.
Or just learn how to map your keys and stop trying to drag everything down into the dull garbage like SMN.
On the flip side, I hope they consolidate all jobs down to 20-25 skills. There's no reason to have more, because more buttons doesn't mean more complexity.
But we're already there for most jobs if you don't include abilities that can't be bound and pure aoe skills that never get used outside dungeons.
also Bonus challenge, anyone that wants pvp combos in pve. Go hit the pvp dummies for 9~ min and tell me if you actually had fun playing with a pvp kit against a boss that can't react to your actions, can't crowd control, can't run away from you, and doesn't do anything unscripted.

I don't have an issue with pvp combos in pvp because the pvp filler is mostly meaningless busywork to keep low pressure on the enemy, the core of the pvp kit is using cooldowns to try and burst people down or put enough pressure to outdamage their defenses while they try to do the same to you with crowd control added into the mix.
In PvE the point of the filler busywork is to make the least amount of mistakes possible while the boss throws mechanics at you, and to anyone that says the typical PvE 1-2-3 combo is impossible to ever screwup or calls it braindead is straight up LYING, specially when progging and still learning the fight. When the encounter throws a mechanic that requires spatial awareness or spinning things in your head or whatever, the very simple action of maintaining a 1-2-3 combo becomes a decent challenge when mixed with mechanics and puts pressure into the encounter as a whole. But people love to downplay this, maybe because they are all 100 parsing gods, maybe because they've cleared the fight 200 times? idk

No, I have problem with PVP combo and abilities set, it's boring.
The fun part of pvp is the adrenaline of a fight vs someone unpredictable.
The boring part is press the same button over and over.
16-20 pvp abilities would be optimal, but it's clear that pvp is a niche and SE does not want to lose too much time thinking how to balance 21 jobs with 20 different abilities.

Because the timing and correct execution of a long sequence of inputs is part of the "DPS challenge" of this kind of games. An excessive pruning would remove the challenge and with it the fun and the satisfaction. Think about the HEALERS, where at 90 you click stone for the whole fight + occasional aoe heal.I simply don't get this logic. inevitably, you're still pressing the same buttons over and over because the combat is scripted. press cd every 120s? press hakaze to start a new combo? still hitting hakaze over and over.. why do people think they're better if they press 3 separate buttons? At least the plugin exists for those who want to optimize.
why do you need to click 1,1,1? it's easy to make the character do only autoattacks and remove the burden of press a button at all.
why do you need to move? We already have the code ready, the NPC of duty support. SE could make the character move for you.
why do you need a burst damage window?
and we can continue to demolish until we do nothing, just watch the AI playing the game for us.
is it extreme? Not really, we already have android/Ios game like this.
My opinion would be very different if we were talking about an action RPG game, like ff7 remake, but ff14... is not.

Not really. Every job I play has more than 30.
And I'm not talking about gcds. I want less ogcds overall.
