What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

IX's my second favourite of the main titles, with my overall favourite being XII. Though I've seen enough over the years from this game to realise that many of the references are unfortunately very surface level or never quite manage to capture the original charm of whatever is being referenced in the first place.

As an aside, I think it's very telling that the entirety of the universe outside of Etheirys was basically nuked by Meteion and largely due to Venat's refusal to tell her people of the true cause behind the Final Days so they could potentially look into a solution that would save not only Etheirys but worlds beyond it...and now the game's protagonists are set to explore the broken remnants of dead worlds so they can build settlements of their own and reap the benefits in the process.

So I was right! We are gonna do a colonialism after all! I would just like to say, "I called it."

Prolly just me, but I find it slightly funny how debby downer this guy is with his analysis.

I actually take comfort in someone else seeing how messed up they made the universe based on their writing choices. I feel like everyone else is just assuring me that turd in my mouth is really chocolate because they intended it to be chocolate when they took a squat. And I spend my days trying to explain intent and execution are not the same thing.

The best thing they can do with Cosmic Exploration is not to have sentient alien races at all in my opinion.

Although they will probably have the universe be more populated and flourishing than ever before because of Meteion's Song of Hope that instantly regenerated all the dead stars and resurrected every race except better.
