This is so dishonest, man lmao we get multiple versions of the same generic modern loungewear, or a polo shirt, or shorts or yet more mens office-shoes and the one nice fantasy looking set of gear is yet again paywalled.

I wish I could like that post 20 more times. I have no problem with mogstation glams being good. But the ingame glams have been mostly subpar for a while now (far too many modern clothing and swinsuit/pajama/etc). Honestly, the only EW glam that has good piece of items is the Island Sanctuary one given by Emmanellain (more steampunk than fantasy, but hey I'm taking it, it was a nice glam). I also have some sympathy for the martial artist torso we got with last treasure chest update, but it's more because it FINALLY gave us a nice sleeveless covering torso for a dancer glam other than the Hempen Camise than for the piece of glam itself.

I might disagree with some complaints, but I can respect this. I've bought a couple of things from the cash shop but it's disappointing to see them throwing really nice fantasy outfits on there. I don't think the comparison to criterion dungeons was needed though, that's content that's always going to be niche, just release cool outfits for all players of all content.

Criterion and Criterion Savage require no small commitment and it’s harder than Savage raiding. Time investment vs reward will always skew played to Savage raiding.
The only people I saw clearing Criterion Savage had Ultimate titles. Consider that for a moment…
As I said in other threads, they totally missed the mark on the intended audience. We wanted harder dungeons in the Extreme level and not Savage or Ultimate.
We wanted this for the midcore players as casuals are swimming in content and hardcore have a reasonable amount.
Loot could have been tokens that we use at a Criterion vendor that may include up to upgrade items for raid tome gear.
They needed to put this in duty finder as getting people for this is not easy and nobody wants to waste precious time in party finder.
This is what bothers me the most. Put the ugly kpop outfits on the store all day, but I would like to be able to get the fantasy outfits in my fantasy game without having to pay extra, there's already a significant lack of them.
I would've probably never touched the chestpiece because it has a cape (AGAIN? REALLY?) but someone else who is desperately looking for actual fantasy outfits might like it.

And the Happiness Set cannot cover it being a 'fantasy looking set'?
Not that I dismiss the negative sentiment about mog items, but coming over like there is nothing to go for in the game is absurd.

happiness set is nearly 2 years old (6.05). How many modern outfit did we get ingame since that? Sure you could add a few other, but in the whole, Modern/joke outfits (pajamas, santa and sentai outfits are what I call joke outfits) have been what we mostly got ingame. We don't say they don't exist, we say we want more balance between nearly all the fantasy stuff in the mogstation and nearly all the modern stuff in the game. Put some of the fantasy stuff in the game and some of the modern stuff in the shop. And the Happiness Set cannot cover it being a 'fantasy looking set'?

Not to be pedantic or contrary but I would not count the Happiness set satisfying the same fantasy aesthetic as the new mogstation set. It's a fine set, and more aesthetically appropriate than the glut of modern glams but I wouldn't consider them comparative in the slightest aesthetically - they just both use the same base "cape" model. This still doesn't excuse the fact that we have an overabundance of indistinct repeat glamours clogging everything up. Why is it ok to have 6000 permutations of the same pair of shoes or sandals or chinos but have to settle for 1 [one!!] piece with any actual aesthetic? I was gonna make a collage of all the shitty repetitive glam items we keep getting but it's too depressing to commit to. https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/g...?job%5B%5D=blm look at the state of this. And the Happiness Set cannot cover it being a 'fantasy looking set'?

Of course, Mog station gets more items than content within the game. They earn more money plus it's more accessible for the majority of the role players that don't actually want to play the game to get their glamour. It's unironically a bigger win for SE due to the state of the game as it is, and I hate everything about that. And again, the modern outfits appeal to the RPers which these days are the dominate force of the community. (Especially since some can swing in both RP and Raiding). The common dominator take is that glamour is the real endgame so yes Mog Station probably is going to get more since that's where the bulk of the money is being made.

99.99% chance probably a Titanman alt
This....this is just cosmetic...something you already get for doing Criterion. People don't want more cosmetics, they want something that increases their power for doing that level of difficult content. You don't need to add new outfits for that. For example: Have each boss drop an Aloalo Badge (final boss drops 2) the first time you kill them each week and then you can exchange 4 of them for a Shine, Twine, or Solvent, allowing you to upgrade a tomestone item each week.https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...30b126edc0278a
Thats a pretty cool set they just added, wish we could unlock via gameplay.
While it would be nice if some of the Mogstation outfits were obtainable through gameplay, SquareEnix is a business and they're likely making more money from selling outfits and mounts than they lose from those that actually quit because they added another item to the store. It's not even worth getting upset over at this point, yet some people seem to shocked every single time a new item is sold.
