Insult to injury: aesthetics of healer gear

We as Miqo'te still have it pretty good, have you seen those same shoulderplates on Elezen? They look WoW levels of ridiculous.

Honestly it just looks weird on miqo'te to have shoulder pads in general, but with taller characters I can see how bad it is, I've played viera and au ra that was still a issue, although I don't know if its just me but auras tails seem to be less clippy in general.
But I do have another issue with glamours for miqo'te, is that Capes clip all the time with my tail, so even then I feel as if it's annoying to glam, if not moonward gear that actually looks sort of nice just removes your tail. I think a lot of characters just run into different types of issues with glams due to small things that could be fixed.

Doesn't feel like I can win, I wouldn't mind the lighter Armor for a Paladin glam (as y'know you got the shield) but I can't really find anything that suits, With WAR/GNB I use GNB's AF 89 gear because it looks amazing, Warrior doesn't really suit armor in the first place, which leaves me kind of struggling with PLD/DRK glams in particular lol.

Honestly I don't see why we couldn't have a shoulder pad toggle, that would make life so much better, I also hope capes are more compatible with tails... I can understand that may take harder work to a degree though.

I like shoulderplates, they make sense and actual historical armor had them for a reason, just don't make them ridiculously big because that's more of a safety hazard than actual protection. I have just accepted that tails will awkwardly clip through the back of your armor, especially on tank coats, unfortunate that the Alexandrian Coat of Fending has been my go-to tank chest for years now (even if I wish it didn't have that one oversized shoulder) because none of the new stuff has managed to grab me.


But don't even get me started on capes.

This game doesn't have cloth physics, the capes are just a piece of cardboard attached to your spine, WHY ARE THEY ON EVERYTHING NOW?

Can we please, for the love of Hydaelyn, stop putting these god awful, rigid, clipfests that are XIV's capes on every new piece of armor? Pretty much every piece of fending gear that I remotely liked this entire expansion had a cape stuck to it which ruined the entire thing...alright, enough ranting about tank armor this is the thread about healers getting only dresses for gear, lol.


TLDR: Capes in this game are awful, they don't move properly because they are literally rigged to your spine, they somehow still clip into everything and they look terrible.

I must agree with you on this. Capes are nice but its implementtion in ffixv is just bad. That's why to this day, my Paladin is still glamoured in his Gallant Gear.
