I am reminded of Cranius's "Big Blue Dress". I'm sure it's still available somewhere other than my iTunes library. The gear is traditional across many MMORPGs.
Zhongli's gear belongs to the Gunblade. Three DPS in a trench coat.

I don't mind the robes and skirts and whatever you want to call them. I do mind that they always seem to be floor-length, though, at least on lalas.

The first one looks like Shisui caster gear (or Manusya if you wanted it for healer), second is sage gear x Alphinaud's outfit with a bit of level 70 summoner, third one is basically the most recent crafted set for healers and the fourth one reminds me of the Thaliak PVP outfit.
Don’t you people love pregnancy robes every bloody raid tier ?

XIV really has a bad problem with sticking with job and role branding religiously without wanting to really experiment and/or push their jobs' iconography to an almost Disney-esque level. (; ̄Д ̄)
It's most egregious with Healers, who must wear witchy/wizard robes and lean more feminine. Don't get me wrong, I like feminine gear but A) Not everyone else does and B) All the robes have such a similar look and silhouette (you can only do so many traditional, fantasy robes).
Although it's very feminine, I think the Diadochos Coat of Healing is a step in the right direction because it at least plays with the silhouette. I would like to see more coats, jackets, vests, boleros, other forms of outerwear, different types of topes/shirts, etc.
I would also like to see them push and/or expand on their job-based gear design too.
What if WHM got gear like XI's Cleric Armor set?
What if BLM got gear inspired by Lulu from X?
Or if DRG got gear inspired by Freya from IX?
What if, because we're going to be in Tural, all the job-specific gear we'll probably get at level 99 was Tural-inspired?
The worlds their oyster. (*´▽`*)

For my notes on Thaleia's gear:
-Wouldn't it have been more striking to make this tier's metal accents be bronze or copper to compliment Aglaia's gold and Euphrosyne's Silver? The silver just makes it look too similar to Euphrosyne's gear.
-To add to already looking too similar to Euphrosyne's gear, the blue accent. Why not green for wind? Or just sticking to the purple you introduced (which I'm assuming is for the mysterious 13th divine)? Or have each role have a color to represent an element/divine?
-Long, dress-like robes for casters and healers? Groundbreaking. Why not use Thaliak or even Nymeia as inspiration for this tier magic-user gear?
-And asymmetrical half-skirts for the Physical attackers?! Aren't we feeling fresh? (*≧▽≦)ノシ))
Imo the Thaleia set would look so much better if it was either open to the sides, like the Lunar Envoy chestpiece, or just had an exposed front and coat/buttcape like the rest of the sets. Or idk, at the very least had the drapes be of different lengths? so many things that could've been done to give it a more unique silhouette, but nah, let's go for generic ankle length whitedressrobe #246

Honestly I do prefer the ‘pregnancy robes’ vibe healer/caster has lol so the raid gear has always looked pretty decent to me. That said, I do get what most people are saying that it gets tiring having the same thing over and over again, for everything lol.
Personally all I ask for is for healers to have more capes/butt capes. Why do tanks get the monopoly on them lol.
At least it’s not that ungodly sci-fi futuristic PvP gear lol.

Robes are a gameplay mechanics for healers : you don't see your feet, so you're more likely to step in damage. It adds challenge and healing requirements to the fights !
But seriously yeah, mainly robes is lazy, as is mostly being recolors of magical dps
