Criticism is absolutely necessary in any form. I believe everyone’s opinions are valid, even the ones I disagree with. And I really do mean that.

However, context is important. We are in the middle of a two-year drought in expansions. OF COURSE things are gonna feel stale now. Especially if you, like the OP claims, have cleared everything that interests you.

The forums are also terrible and represent a fraction of the player base. Everyone else is on Discord and Reddit and various other social media platforms. Forums are a relic of the mid 2000s.

I also think it’s important to understand the target audience. In WoW, the focus is to get to max level as fast as possible and start raiding or engage in esports. And that’s perfectly okay because Blizzard knows its core audience.

FFXIV is a completely different game with a different focus. Here, it’s all about the story, accessibility and solo content. The minute it takes a turn to be more challenging or whatever is the minute I close my wallet and I can guarantee you way more people than the OP will quit as well.
