It doesn'r deserve them and it shouldn't win shit until the game does better.

Baldur's Gate 3 really deserved the award for best community support and all the other awards they got.
They are on top of what the community wants like 24/7
I'm not too sold on Cyberpunk for best ongoing game, but Endwalker seems to not be everyone's favorite, so I guess it makes sense. Can't win 'em all.

I’m really confused how Alan wake won awards because I know a lotta people and exactly 0 of them had the game on their radar at all
Big facts. AC6 is so incredible actually. What an absolutely delightful game that deserves every bit of success for one of my favorite IPs.
I still gotta play Alan Wake, Cyberpunk now that it's fixed, and BG3, I'm entirely unspoiled, but I don't even feel a big rush because there have been so many killer indie games that are creative and interesting and actually treat me like I didn't have an early life lobotomy, I've been eating so good. I'm so catered to right now.
Playing games you actually like is something else let me tell you.
It came out like 5 minutes before they started posting nominees so yeah like wtf
Even had a musical performance from that instead of from the game that actually won music
Cyberpunk for ongoing game was just weird. Apex or Fortnite, totally fine, but one good expansion to fix your broken game after goodness know's how long is not an ongoing game
Of course these are also the awards that nominated someone for best e-sports coach who pointed out himself on Twitter that he didn't even coach this year
Yeah. Wondering when this tread was going to get made. Only surprised it took this long. All the outrage merchants must be just all a tither with the results.
Cyberpunk is good now but no way would I have given it the award. . . They had to do what they did because they messed it up, and they did charge for it (in a sense) via the phantom liberty expansion. No Mans Sky also messed up but they've been doing it longer and for free.
I wouldn't have felt wrong if FFXIV earned it, but I felt like "nah man" for cyberpunk. They redeemed themselves now, that's good, but you need to now continue to do great stuff to get an award.
Shouldn't do bad, fix bad, and then be told you did great lol.
Makes sense. I would expect FFXIV to be a strong contender in a year that a new xpac drops, since that's effectively the equivalent of an entire new game. In an off-year where only patches have been released? I wouldn't expect it to get awards over other games that are either brand new or releasing major expansions themselves.
We're at the tail end of a rather divisive expansion, a lot of people are on break from the game until the next patch, and the "awards" are decided entirely on internet votes, with a big pile of heavily hyped games that recently released and are a lot fresher in peoples' minds. Why would XIV have won anything?
