Why would XIV have won anything?
Actually online fan votes only account for 10% of the vote weight, says so right on their FAQ, so the votes are basically useless and just stunt to sell more games on the store, or if you want to be pessimistic it's all just a Tencent self wank to see which tencent game wins the best tencent award.
Either way I'm glad it didn't win anything important, the more desperate a mmo dev is the better the content is in the future.

    The dark times will pass.

Lol, no surprise there. Yesterday on Famfrit Limsa Lominsa we had someone spamming racial slurs in /shout, and it took hours for the GMs to respond. Not exactly a great representation of community support. As for best ongoing game? I think the increasing time between patches and the limited content released with each patch speaks for itself. Hopefully we see a turnaround with DT.

    Yep, without a doubt.

The Legends of the Titanmen lives on, a shining example of the power of compassion and the ability of people to make a difference in the world. A reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, as long as there are heroes like the Titanmen who dare to do good deeds in Eorzea.

Don't know what people want from this. No one really cares that it lost, the loss isn't going to make SE make any changes and the game had good competition apparently.

Oh and a lot of people don't even take the awards seriously, although knowing people on these forums if the game had won then certain people would definitely be using it as proof of their points, while others would be stating that it doesn't matter.

Also, this wasn't even EW's release year as an expansion, so I don't think the awards matter towards that.

BG3 I believe was actively engaging their community during the game's actual development. Something Devs seem to rarely do.

Though I had little interest in the awards after browsing the nominations lists as it felt like a number of titles from Japanese developers got snubbed while they deliberately shoehorned Alan Wake 2 into almost every category.

I've just been fishing around for the Announcement Trailers for new games and stuff that were done during the show.

ATM Hyped for Monster Hunter Wilds, Light No Fire, and Visions of Mana. I'll probably get that FF16 expansion for the free PSN trophies and few hours of story at some point though.

I don't expect ff14 to keep winning the same awards multiple years in a row. Just because ff14 doesn't win the same award yearly doesn't mean it's bad but there was a lot of other really good games released this year that also deserve the award.

Definitely hyped for the new Monster Hunter as it looks to be a successor to Monster Hunter World, Rise didn't really grip me. It was missing the immersive elements from World like vast and detailed biomes, monster behaviour, environmental effects, etc.

Somewhat sceptical about Light No Fire, the trailer looked very good but Sean Murray is still incredibly bad at tempering expectations, we don't need a repeat of No Man's Sky after they finally managed to restore their reputation.

I wouldn't have felt wrong if FFXIV earned it, but I felt like "nah man" for cyberpunk. They redeemed themselves now, that's good, but you need to now continue to do great stuff to get an award.

Shouldn't do bad, fix bad, and then be told you did great lol.
I mean, thats kinda what FF14 went through in all fairness.

I'm gonna be honest with you, SE only won those awards last time around as a poke to Blizzard and nothing more then that, now that Blizzard has sorted their crap out, theres no reason to give SE any awards for FF14.

If anything the community communication from Blizzard since just before Dragonflight dropped has been some of the best in the industry and more so since its release.

Theres been nothing but silence from the SE devs outside Fanfest and even then they are saying less in comparison to the previous fan fests imo.
