FFXIV did not win any awards at the 2023 Video Game Awards

I'm gonna be honest with you, SE only won those awards last time around as a poke to Blizzard and nothing more then that, now that Blizzard has sorted their crap out, theres no reason to give SE any awards for FF14.

And I'll be honest with you - what you're offering is nothing more than a personal opinion that sounds like one of those conspiracy theories people love to come up with on the internet. My opinion is that SE won last year because they are actually putting out a quality product that a lot of people very much enjoy.

Timing is everything, consider what just happened to blizzard just before the game awards.

And FF14 didnt get anything this year, try and think why.

SE isnt really great, and this whole expansion why its longer patch Candence, less content per patch and they are shorter lived.

SE wasnt even communicating that much at the start of Endwalker either, and it got lot less as it went on.

You are just both a new player to FF14 and a bitter wow player.

Because there was no actual new FFXIV expansion released this year? I assume it's not eligible for all the big awards without that factor.

Also because other games exist and only one can win the prize. Someone has to be crowned "best" even if all of them were hypothetically excellent.

Because the categories were Best Community Support and Best Ongoing Game.

Best Community SUPPORT I wouldn't say they should win because basically all they do is live letters and some random contests now and then. They don't interact with the community at all otherwise and when is the last time anyone has seen a community manager or anyone official post on here?

And best ongoing game is funny when they are taking longer and longer between patches with less stuff IN each patch.

Well they do manage social media such as twitter, instagram and youtube as well as the lodestone, its database of information and its blog, and respond to support desk inquiries and technical support posts. Whether that counts I don't know.

Responsiveness depends on responding to what, but response in the support desk is good. Social media activity is good. As much as people may not like to hear it on this forum, major patches/DLC every 4 months and sub-patches even more frequently than that is actually really good compared to some games.

Right, and the other games nominated do all the things listed AND interact with the community on a regular basis. Also I would not call their community interactions transparent or responsive at all. Again just look at how these forums are a total war torn wasteland with nary an official presence in sight.

Do you play WoW by chance? As in, do you have an active sub and play it regularly and interact with the community on the forums? Because I do. In fact, I didn't even play FFXIV this past weekend. I spent my entire gaming time in WoW this weekend and I'm on their forums all the time.

Their forums are cluttered with "The devs don't care," and "The player council was a sham," and "We're just being ignored," posts. To think WoW's communication is the best in the industry is literally laugh out loud funny. And no one would laugh harder than WoW players.

Both the FFXIV and the WoW forums are in interesting study in human behavior. Both communities absolutely despise their own games and actively praise the other game. If you want FFXIV love, go to the WoW forums where this game can do no wrong. And if you want WoW praise, this is the place!

Have you seen the blue posts? they are pretty frequent with updates and its way more then SE here for FF14.
