I didn't read the full thread so apologies if this has been mentioned or the thread has taken a different turn.

I feel like they missed the mark on doing this already. The prime time to do it was at the same time as the stat squish they did not too long ago.
I would love for this to be a thing but at this point I think they could only apply it to new content going forward since there wouldn't be max ilvl set in place for those yet.
People get pissy if you take something away from them.
