This is far too reasonable for the internet.I have no loyalty to mmos, I simply continue to play FFXIV because I enjoy logging in. If I'm not having fun, I log out. If I find that I'm logging out immediately after logging in for a week or two, that's a sign I should unsub for a few months.
There are so many amazing games out there, it'd be a shame to feel forced to stick with only one.
Probably because it comes across like virtue signaling.
Most people aren't logging out because they are burned out, they are logging out because they are bored. Unsubbing which has been proven time and time again does not rekindle the spark upon return. It's the same game, with the same content. The answer isn't to unsub, it's to quit and move on if you aren't having fun anymore. I know this to be true because the vast majority of people only stay subbed out of fear of losing their homes. This suggests that they want to remain in this game but are lacking incentive to stay in this game.

I will never understand why someone would continue to sub so they can use a house in the game they don't enjoy. If you don't enjoy the game who cares about the house? I certainly wouldn't.Probably because it comes across like virtue signaling.

Because they do enjoy the game. There's a difference between taking a break and quitting. If you take a break with the intent to return, your house will be gone when you get back. The house isn't exactly easy to get back so yes, a lot of people care towards that "who cares?".

Is it? They're actually a part of a major problem.
When I was little I can remember spending hours and hours focused on one game because there was so much to do(Pokemon Platinum, then BW then BW2), so much to explore, even with every guide you could find online. That doesn't exist anymore, and it doesn't exist anymore because the modern video game is designed to be played once and cycled through. It's not that people have less attention spans either. It's that game developers realize they can slack off and that people will just go out and buy more games, meaning that games don't actually compete with each other for your time that much anymore.
Video games as a whole seem to be on this downward spiral, and people aren't going to realize it's their own fault until most games/series reach the point of being memed on.
tldr: You're letting big corporations give you less for you to pay them more and you're saying you enjoy it.
