still, sometimes i miss diving in another high fantasy world with many unknowns to be discovered.

Probably because it comes across like virtue signaling.
Most people aren't logging out because they are burned out, they are logging out because they are bored. Unsubbing which has been proven time and time again does not rekindle the spark upon return. It's the same game, with the same content. The answer isn't to unsub, it's to quit and move on if you aren't having fun anymore. I know this to be true because the vast majority of people only stay subbed out of fear of losing their homes. This suggests that they want to remain in this game but are lacking incentive to stay in this game.

I will never understand why someone would continue to sub so they can use a house in the game they don't enjoy. If you don't enjoy the game who cares about the house? I certainly wouldn't.

Because they do enjoy the game. There's a difference between taking a break and quitting. If you take a break with the intent to return, your house will be gone when you get back. The house isn't exactly easy to get back so yes, a lot of people care towards that "who cares?".

Unless I actually am doing something more for the day in FF14, like a grind, I just hop on, do some weekly/daily chores, then hop off. It may not even be necessairly to play a different game with my freetime time. Maybe its to watch a movie, or hangout with someone. If you got freetime, you just need to spend it smartly. If you feel like your bored and wasting your time in one area, then go do something else. Consider it like a day off. Peoples interests wax and wane all the time with various stuff and are rarely static.

Funny how this game is still the best MMO there is even though how shitty it still is.

True, the best part of FFXIV is that it lets you play other games, which means that instead of playing just one bad MMO, you can play several. But because FFXIV is still your "main game", it gives you a pedestal on which you can insult other games. Feeling superior based on which multibillion dollar company you give money to is the pinnacle of gaming in 2023, and FFXIV does it best because you can use your lack of content to assault other games and tell everyone just how bad they are.

even though i have been subbed somewhere around 3700 days i play plenty of other games, heck i am waiting for the perfect new world beta that will be out in around 10 days to try that or hoping throne and liberty will be alright. also cant wait for while its not an mmo palworld.

i am not looking to play something better or hope ff14 tries to become something it's not but i can only do the same content over and over again before wanting to break the cycle of repeation as much as i like to go back and do some lazy grinds of bozja or eureka i have played them for years now.

I play(ed) FFXIV because I was a fan of the series more than actual MMOs and thought it might be fun to try a FF game that actually has other people involved that are also fans of the games. MMOs always felt like a waste of time and attracted the kinds of gamers I'd rather avoid, and in my naivety I thought a FF version might be a little different. I guess I was somewhat right considering what I've heard people say about how other gaming communities compare, but not as much as I hoped, lol. Still, the notion that FFXIV is meant to be one of the better games when it comes to that sort of thing is enough to put me off trying any other entirely.

just try them out man. I also play guild wars 2. Your own character talks with voice acting. That alone makes its story more enjoyable than this game for me. And That game has no sub And no vertical progression. Thus no gear grind. Perfect secondary mmo for me.
