What would a new tank even contribute at this point

the reason is to play different jobs and aesthetics.

while mechanically they all play the same they look different.

we will even get more of dps/healers/tanks in the upcoming years heck the expansion after DT will be the tank/support dps expansion so honestly if you want to give suggestions now is the time for what they can be and do.

i mean if you want to ride warrior that hard you are free to see it that way.

the way to see it is actually you choose the tank you find interesting and play it as they are all viable in all content if you dont want to play anything else cause you find warrior best in everything you are free to limit yourself.
