I'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt with a technical issue being the reason, but I can't help but think it's a combination of management/culture. I have no doubt that if they created a small team from the relevant disciplines (art/modelling/programming/whatever) and said "you've got 6 months, work on the Viera/Hrothgar hat issue" they'd solve the issue. None. The talent at SE is top notch, what worries me is everything above them, which either forces massive slowdowns, or simply isn't concerned with the issue, or worse, doesn't even really know it's that big of a deal.

Have we ever gotten a clear definitive answer on what the issue is exactly? Not just "it's hard to get the hair and hat to work together" or something but an actual technical reason why it's not feasible?
