I just want to address this point because I missed the comment earlier.

That's not a valid parallel to what's going on with the alliance raid roulette. People are not being asked to upgrade their gear to do NEW CONTENT. They are being asked to upgrade their gear to CONTINUE DOING THE SAME CONTENT THEY ALREADY HAD, exactly as well.

It's not like if you try to go into Sastasha at level 50 you need level 50 gear to do it. It's not like the raids a player already has available suddenly become harder when they hit level 70. It's not like queuing into Ivalice with level 90 gear gives you a meaningful improvement compared to having level 70 gear.

They're going to be synced down anyway, requiring better gear is pointless until they have higher level content to do with it.
