Stop making threads about youtubers.
Stop making threads about youtubers.
In all honesty the best way to counter threads that you don't like is to just create threads that you do. It could be about a particular aspect of the game that you enjoy, asking people who their forum poster is or making a thread to share tips for new players.
Part of me, the very jaded part of me, thinks it's likely that the yubtuber thread spam is partially active because the authors *know* it annoys people.
Like a few other topics I could mention. When folks are unwilling to contain their discussions to one or two pre-existing threads, and instead feel the need to make new ones constantly, it's because they want the visual clutter. The annoyance.
Titanmen didn't make threads because he really cared. He did it to be annoying.
As such, yeah we could try to up the signal to noise ratio, but that still just increases noise over all. It doesn't reduce it.
If communities (lol) could ever band together and make annoyance and trolling boring to the troll, the trolls would get bored and move away.
30 years of internet has more or less proven that this is impossible however.

You actually bring up an important point if people would just stop replying to this person his posts would drop off the front page.Part of me, the very jaded part of me, thinks it's likely that the yubtuber thread spam is partially active because the authors *know* it annoys people.

Enjoy Life you only get one.
Except when his threads drop off the front page, he starts necroing old threads until he comes up with new ideas to post.
Those who don't spend much time in the forums won't identify the poster (or notice the post dates) and fall into the trap.
More attentive moderation with stricter penalties for repeat offenders would help. If they would start banning for the pointless necros, we'd also be rid of most of the threads started solely to stir up trouble.
