because the players are telling them theyre wrong and theyre blatently overrulling there opinions
Trolls are really weak on this forum now. It isn't even entertainment anymore. Please do better. You should apologize. Please try to leave constructive replies instead of just saying anything to be heard
I've been toying with this question in my mind basically since around 6.2 when it became obvious this game was'nt going to deliver any real of meaningful change.. seeing the clear nature of the cash shop and the exploitation in the games current content output vs what we pay our sub for, anbd ofcourse that 7.0 will be a min of 6months between patches of basically... nothing...
should the developers appologise for the state of the game?
and if not... what level of accountability SHOULD we hold them to? if any..
(ofcourse this is just a question i am not demanding this or that people do this so please read it properly before you start attacking me)
You should apologise to the devs instead. The things they have to deal with...

Poor little Square Enix, such a small indie company too. Also doing all that work for free.
Oh wait they are paid ? Who would have thought ! It's almost like it's their job.
I don't agree with the whole "they should apologize" thing, however the constant victimization of the dev team from players with parasocial relationships with the devs trying to shield then from criticism is absolutely ridiculous.
Personally I don't want an apology, I want fun jobs and fun content.

Apology for what, exactly?
Either way, that's a waste of time IMHO. If they can come up with a proper apology, they should've used that time and resource to actually listen & address the issues festering instead of dancing around it then ask what do we want to buy from mogstation.
Forced to agree with this aspect of the discussion. Due to experience from another game, I'm no fan of engagement metrics like these - they tend to favor pushing players toward a specific activity that they don't necessarily enjoy but feel like they have to put up with in order to get a reward; the Devs then point at the predictably-high engagement numbers as "proof" that players like that activity.
Its a little dishonest really, in my opinion.
I don't think companies should apologise for making something. Nobody got hurt. It's just a product. But to be fair if you care about something discussions can become heated. That's the only time where I think an apology is warranted. And to be completely frank, I don't care about apologies much. I care more about the action. Look no further than apology JPEGs on X from AAA studies. What would they apologize for? They have delivered exactly what anyone who has been playing for multiple expansions can expect. How much you like that content is a your mileage may vary situation, but they have given us what they told us we were getting. If you want to hold SE accountable, the only tangible thing you can do is to unsub and deprive them of that money. Otherwise keep giving feedback to try and shape what the devs decide to give us for follow on expansions.
For what? The latest interview obviously upset me on multiple points, but I imagine that there's still plenty of people in the community that don't care.
Are the devs egotistical? At this point, yes. Some of Yoshi's talking points during the interview reminded me of some of the worst bad faith arguments I have ever seen anywhere. But unless the majority of the community is in agreement we would also be egotistical for expecting an apology.
Having the devs apologize or grovel isn't going to fix the situation anyways. They could give you all the affectation you could ever ask for, but it would mean nothing if they didn't act on those words.
Nah, they don't have to apologize. Making jobs fun again and fixing current issues would make up for it. Apologizing doesn't really fix the problems at hand.
We already know that they have adjusted rewards for criterion and I'm pretty interested to see what they're including.
Yoship might continuously be frustrating the hell out of me with his...statements. about relics. But if they apologize and do nothing, it just means they were empty words.
