You woulda been flabbergasted at all the apologies they put out for 1.0

Also do none of you guys actually read at all can you not look up and read Theodrics post which makes some good points as to why “send a message with your wallet” is not nearly as powerful as you think it is?

Devs? Nah. I think they haven't done a very good job lately but it's your usual f-up that games as a service run into. Go to any game forum of any online game and we all have similar stories.
The leadership is the one who should apologize in any case. Devs usually aren't responsable for coming up with systems and ideas, they are the ones who make them happen. Leadership gives devs a task and then said task has to be tested and approved. If leadership greenlights everything the devs do then that's not the dev's problem.
Even if the devs had brilliant ideas to fix issues or create content, it still needs to get greenlit. If this was a small indie studio then chances are the devs would also be responsible for most of the game's failures, but this is a multi million company with a structure.
People asking for Yoshida to apologize are more spot on than people asking devs to do so.

For what? They delivered an expansion people consumed it. Every gaming forum for every game has these same threads. Omg omg the sky is falling.

So EW wasn't their finest expansion omg it's the end of the world I can't be entertained 24 7. No one owes anyone anything, if you are unhappy you know what to do. You have options just ones you don't want to do and that's on you.

My point had nothing to do with the quality of the content, I just pointed how the argument "Yeah people do the content planned for month in 3 days then complain" is stupid.

Bozja was not perfect but at least it was something. More than what we get now. Since 6.45, I'm at 14 relics up to date without even trying after the second one. Got half 5 or 6 of them farming the mog tomestone event. Relics right now is something you complete while doing something else.

And Bozja had a lot more than the relics. farm for glams, haircuts, mounts, xp, or just because you wanted to get to 10/10/10. Content totally optional, but that kept people involved in the game. I liked Bozja, and not for the relics grind, because out of bozja solution was nearly systematically more profitable than the bozja one. Should I abandon the idea to have a better version of that type of content because you didn't like it? (Also you chose the wrong guy to apply that "yeah, you think relics were so great, I litterally tried to make a summary of what worked and what didn't with previous relics)

The problem is right now, the mentality seem to be "If I can't have it, nobody should".

It's a nice sentiment, but no, not really.

Apologies don't really mean much bar misunderstandings - Everything else is just best put into execution.

Simply put, if they are sorry it would reflect on the game going forward, rather than just tokenism. So IMO, there's no actual need to apologize, and their time could be spent elsewhere.

They shouldn't really be held to any form of accountability, really. It's not that serious. If we spent time enforcing that people should apologize when an expectation is not met, or when people are unhappy, and if they were made accountable through any means then they would arguably just be wasting their time with something that could actually be spent on development.

This just comes across as validation-seeking IMO.

This thb. People wonder why some things are the way now? It's due to them seeing the data and how players did things. Dungeons boring hallways? Hmmm I wonder why they stopped giving us other paths. Oh wait they told us in an old interview why. Because the other paths made the dungeon take longer. Skills and spells get taken away to the point most jobs are boring or don't feel as though they fit the role? Enough people or a very loud subset complained about how a job was too hard to learn or that a skill or spell wasn't being used by anyone that's not a raider so it ended up getting chopped. This community reaps what it sows and then acts surprised when these changes come about. You want more dungeons to go back to how they were then maybe some of you should have stop telling others for years to just suck it up when it came to how people did and still do dungeon runs. A lot of the problems we have now is due to the devs seeing us not use things. Or do things. Or complain that things are too complex or complicated. And sure some of it does come from the devs wanting most if not all of the playerbase having the ability to experience just about anything. Yet due to the community's mind set of gotta go fast and oh its fine if you or you and another person carries an entire party. Stop complaining... ugh geeze you elitist try hards. We end up with a lot of where we are now.

Don't get me wrong them only seemingly looking at engagement metrics isn't the best way to measure success. As I doubt we would get Ultimates if that 100% was the case. Yet we also know from many others that part of the reason why so many don't have more than one finished past relic for many was due to the grind or severe lack of future proofing. The aesthetics of the zone(s)/gear weren't something they liked or enjoyed. Or in the case of more recent things the rewards were found lacking. Criterion savage having no rewards for instance is baffling even to me who will probably never touch it.

As far as ive seen they believe all is going well with the game, only sorry mentioned as of late was removing mechanics do to trusts/duty support implementation. Rather than an apology id want them to flat say they 100% stand by all theyre current changes, at least that way folks can no longer cope in thinking theyll change back and just move on...

How dare people not go at a snail pace by playing 10 minutes a week to pace themselves out ? Imagine wanting to play the game, nah dude, pace yourself out, if you only play 10 minutes a week you'll have content!

What a take, slowing yourself down to snail pace on purpose because the game barely has any content and talking like that's a solution

To add to the (good) points already made, 'vote with your wallet' could also send the entirely wrong message.

I sure as hell wouldn't want this game to start looking at Free to Play business models, but I know of at least one MMO that did so when subscriptions dropped significantly and, sadly, developed the sort of cash-grab mentality (mostly around gambleboxes) that would make the average smartphone game developer proud.
