No it didnt, if you want a checklist to tick off from I literally have one ready. Since you very clearly dont care about how the relics look unlike me there will be no difference for you. There was nothing forcing you to do the grind but yourself. All the previous relic quests were optional side content so if you didn't want to do it then you could skip it and do something else. This relic process using outdated tomestones basically just took content away from people that enjoyed it while giving nothing back in return.

You just care about how they look, and given you find the acquisition method okay for you, you'll go for it. We want the acquisition method to require effort, whether it's a field zone or a refined ARR method or otherwise. I want them to look good, but if they do look good it's mostly an added bonus for me.
It's two entirely separate preferences and we will continue to sit here going in circles. Proving YoshiP right when he said it's hard to appeal to both.

So you just want something to do. This is a problem I have with you MMO players: if you found the gameplay fun you would already be playing it instead of complaining on the forum. Instead you want the game to tell you what to do because you dont know on your own what you find fun to do. But if it's a checklist you want someone to make for you, literally anyone could make one unless you specifically care about having an achievement to show off with (in which case I have no solution for you other than to tell you to go find something better to brag with). This is why the endwalker relic solution is better, it serves us who care for the looks and anyone else can just have a random forum poster give them a checklist and there will be no functional difference. You just care about how they look, and given you find the acquisition method okay for you, you'll go for it. You mean the ones I already did? The ones I already got that I'm interested in getting? So you just want something to do. The pve job design is not fun for me. That is what I focus on most. Longevity of content and reasons to do it thereof does not always equate to raw gameplay. It would make up for msq content being made this easy for mass appeal single-handedly for me. If you think I'm grinding out the same easy msq dungeons I've been running with the current state of job design you're out of your mind.
I already said it wasn't about bragging in another response. I don't get relics to brag about "haha I have this and you don't", It's something strictly for me to work toward.
Surprise surprise, I, an mmo player, want to do things in the current expansion to work towards in a game marketed to be an MMO (or RPGMMO at this point), who would have guessed?

Well EW gives us neither a checklist nor things that are fun to do so I still don’t know what I’m supposed to doSo you just want something to do. This is a problem I have with you MMO players: if you found the gameplay fun you would already be playing it instead of complaining on the forum. I can solve your lack of checklist, unfortunately I dont have the power to solve the problems with current job design or how shallow variant actions are for example.

And how would you solve my current checklist
Because if it involves either
1) play other games
2) do this random achievement nobody has heard of or cares about otherwise you still have stuff to do
You haven’t solved my checklist problem

I will simply give you a checklist I made:
It's a lot of endwalker but not exclusively. Hope you have fun with it:
Totally real relic (I promise((I am lying on the internet))):
Step 1:
Defeat 8 porxies and 8 porxie poachers in Il Mehg.
Clear the dungeon Matoya's relic
Defeat Barbariccia, Rubicante and Scarmiglione
Step 2:
Complete 5 different Fates each in the 6 endwalker zones OR defeat Chi one time
Obtain 75 Lunatender Blossoms
Complete the fate chain The Dataqi Chronicles
Complete 12 Arkasodra Daily quests OR 6 Custom Deliveries for Ameliance
Step 3:
Complete the Dungeons Vanaspati, Smileton and Sigma Dreamscape
Defeat Golbez and complete 5 additional lvl 60 or above trials
(each completion with daily bonus of duty roulettes normal raid or trial can count as one trial)
Complete any one of the following:
Complete all 3 ARR alliance raids once, Complete the tower at paradigm's breach, Complete Dun scaith, Complete The Orbonne Monastery, Complete Aglaia
Step 4:
Obtain 1 Weapon token each from P4, P8 and P12
Accumulate 50 points from the following list:
Shadowbringer dungeon = 2 points
Shadowbringer normal raid = 4 points
Endwalker trial = 1 points
Endwalker alliance raid = 5 points
Endwalker extreme trial = 6 points
Variant dungeon = 5 points
Leveling roulette daily bonus = 6 points
Dungeon roulette lvl 90 = 6 points

Obtain one Grade X Combat Materia of every kind
Open 6 lvl 90 Treasure Maps OR Reach the final stage in either lvl 90 treasure map once
Open 8 Materiel Container 4.0 from your current Grand Company
Obtain 3 Manderium Meteorite
Step 6:
Complete 12 different normal raids from the combined of Endwalker and Shadowbringer OR any one Endwalker Savage raid
Accumulate 30 points from the following list:
HW normal raid = 3 points
SB normal raid = 3 points
HW alliance raids = 5 points
SB alliance raids = 5 points
EW alliance raid = 5 points
Step 7:
Complete duty roulette lvl 50-80 Dungeons 5 defeat any 3 Eureka Orthos bosses
Complete duty roulette trials 5 times OR times OR defeat any 3 PotD bosses
Obtain 3 chunks of complementary chrondite
Step 8:
Obtain 3 Amplifying Achondrite
Defeat the bosses Zodiark, Hydaelyn and Endsinger in their trials OR one of them in the extreme version
Clear all 3 routes in one endwalker Variant dungeons OR clear any one Criterion dungeon
Complete 20 fates in any endwalker or shadowbringer zone OR complete all 3 Blue carnival weekly targets in one week
(report back to me so I can congratulate you on your success)
Every step in order, every instanced combat synched, things to buy need to be bought at the step they come up at so no counting of your already bought ew relic mats (because I cant code in new items into the game)
