Regardless of what specific mechanic OP is referring to, the main point is simply about using mods to cheat in general. I don't see the point in getting angry and quibbling over details. If it's possible to do that in ANY content, then OP has made their point. Didn't we just have an incident where someone in a "world first" Ultimate team was caught using mods to cheat?

The issue is that fabricating stories about people supposedly cheating doesn't actually provide any awareness benefit when it's something everyone already knows about that hasn't lived under a rock isolated from the world for the past 25 years. People have made cheat engines and tools for every game out there, people are going to download and use them. Game companies do things to try and stop it and it doesn't work for more than a short period of time before said tool makers find away around the new prevention steps.

This is was basically just an attempt to start a witch hunt coupled with a cry for attention.

Is it not just as bad to falsely accuse and report someone for cheating and attempt to start a witch hunt??

I have to admit, I actually missed the part where they said they reported the player. My bad on that one. If you're going to report someone, you should be absolutely sure they did it. Another player simply moving their character normally, even if the timing seems suspiciously convenient, is not evidence enough to submit a cheating report. I would hope no punitive action will be taken against the accused player based purely on OP's assumptions, but you never know when a report might land in the lap of a trigger-happy GM.

Gotcha, it happens. Yes I agree, you never know, gms make mistakes too I imagine.
