I can't be the only one who finds Hildibrand lame

Greg summoned an Eikon from crystals that DIDN"T temper anybody or make a hole in the world and suck in aether uncontrollably. This is a MAJOR plot point dismissed as a joke.

That's the thing though - if you, like me, skip cutscenes because you don't find the usual, predictable, shenanigans funny you're liable to miss plot points like that.

I mean, I've tried gritting my teeth and watching with the skip button close at hand - and I really have tried; every time a new chapter in this questline comes out, I do my best to watch the cutscenes instead of skipping them. And every single time, I end up noping out about halfway through the first one so that I'm not exposed to the predictable cringe parade that is Hildi buried in the ground head first or Godbert running around in his underpants.

I'm not going to say you're wrong for not liking Hildibrand's story and for skipping it as a result, but... well, what do you expect here? If you're skipping the story, you're willingly ignoring the entire story, and that includes the lore that's interesting. Do you want them to make Hildibrand cutscenes unkippable so you're forced to see the lore? For them to make a 'Hildibrand: Not Funny Version' so you can just get all the dry information without having to watch convoluted slapstick?

Being totally honest I very much enjoyed A Realm Reborn through Stormblood's Hildibrand arcs, but the Endwalker one has just been kind of... bleh.

I think it's because there was driving mysteries behind them, but Endwalker's just feels like a bunch of disconnected episodes loosely strung together with Lugae, PuPu, and the background villain whose name I can't remember.

I hate the Hildibrand storyline. The jokes are stupid and not funny. I only did them to unlock the trials.

ARR was significantly worse there. It just repeated the same enemy several times as the only connection. But this ment that 3x the entire patch was just stretching the story. The entire ARR part was just anoying as it felt like there was no progress.
HW and SB were better as there the story felt like it progressed.

EW isnt completed yet so you cant even judge what actualy is relevant and what isnt.

Yeah, I honestly think Endwalker Hildibrand is capable of being really interesting, but the fact it's tied to the relic is hurting it. Hildibrand is something you need to be in the mood for, so actively incentivizing it like that doesn't really suit.

"Good parts" is subjective. I actually said that I generally grit my teeth and avoid skipping for the most part. In fact, I don't skip when the scenes don't involve the recycled slapstick routines.

I respect that you may find the humor in these quests funny - please respect the fact that I don't.
