I can't be the only one who finds Hildibrand lame

If you don't like Hildibrand, and don't think anything it ever talks about is good or significant, why do you even care? It clearly holds no appeal to you, and being such sidelined side content is eminently skippable, so... why are you doing it, and clearly disliking it so heavily that you came here solely to vent? You've clearly gone deep into Hildibrand too, since you know about PuPu enough to say 'nobody cares' about him.

There's a pretty easy way here to improve your experience with the game by way of not doing/thinking about the parts of it you don't like, and I'm not sure why exactly you're not doing it. I've pulled up your character's Lodestone, I know there's a lot of storylines in this game you haven't done, you could just do them instead.

EDIT: One more thing. I have a further, also serious question here, because I checked something else about your character on the Lodestone, and I can't help but notice that you don't actually have any of the rewards you get from doing Hildibrand. In fact, the only non-MSQ reward I can see is a Magitek Predator. Why is that?

I see the stalker in the same kind of light many take the Annoying fan from Bethesda games fame. Where some enjoy them and might even find them funny. While others think they're well annoying and would totally find away to shove them off a cliff or out of an airlock. Some who "like" the stalker like him in the way that it allows them to make jokes or commentary about him. Where with the most recent part people will have a laugh followed by a groan at how much he's not even really trying anymore in hiding.

I think if the topic itself was simply on the subject of whether people like Hildibrand or not, then there's not much of a lore discussion to be had on the subject. As for introducing lore through the Hildibrand quest series, I do see value in that. You do have to give credit where credit is due, however, and this certainly sounds like it could be an awesome idea, in a oblique manner of speaking.

I'd like to see them delve more into the culinary lore of Tural. Perhaps have Hildibrand cross paths with Quina Quen, and have them launch into some gastronomical adventures together. The writing team definitely have the food animations to work with, especially with how they've engaged with forum in-jokes over the 6.x patch series.

Indeed, I think the idea of Hildibrand being used for lore and worldbuilding is an idea that deserves credit; Hildibrand's very uniquely positioned as a storyline both in tone and in how it relates to the world, making it capable of showing us facts about the world that very little other types of content can.

...which is why I think we need to recognize that Hildibrand does that, and has been doing that since at least March of 2014 when it introduced Gilgamesh (and therefore the game's relationship with the FF multiverse), as well as a certain Syndicate member and his surrounding goldsmithing enterprise. You could probably make a case for earlier, too.

You mean we should go and find Greg and ask him "nicely" how he does his rift travel? When I say nicely I mean beating him up for the fourth time. It could be how we get the joke weapon winners as he is a weapons collector and if I'm remembering correctly how you can end up with Escalipoor.

I think that's the free trial account that exists only to troll the forums. There's probably an actual acount that has really played somewhere, but not on the same email adress, so that when this one (and all the others) get reported he won't lose his real profile.

They're a level 90 White Mage, with Mining and Botany in the high 80s and all other crafting and gathering at 80 (except for 79 CUL). This is not a free trial account, or else nothing would exceed 60.

I'd be able to get a better idea if their achievements were shared, but there's definitely monetary investment in this account, albeit not much else. I'd wager some form of alt farming account, probably a gathering bot; so yeah, this is someone's alt, but it's not a zero-investment one.

Which is the MO of a known poster in the general section. One battle class maxed out, all DoL/DoH leveled or almost leveled. They have come to the lore section at times normally when they haven't come up with some dumb topic that's just bait. Where they can and do have conversations with another alt of theirs. Until one or more of them gets banned.

The post is just my opinion on Hildirand. I don't judge content until I experienced it, that's why I try everything in the game so I can make an informed judgement, even if it's bad. And my verdict is: Hildibrand is bad and it can be better if tied important lore to it.

I am not a fan of Hyldabrand and didn't really care when he was a side quest. I dislike that they made him a part of the Relic questline. I really wish we could get a more serious, lore heavy relic quest line in the next expansion. Have some heavy lore/story behind the weapons, let us lear about legendary heroes that wielded them and how they forged their legends. Much like the start of the 2.0 relics.
