Scrap current classes or keep as is?

Scrap IMO, but keep progress, for example if you are a rank 30 conjurer before the change you will be a rank 30 (whatever takes its place).

Adding additional classes on to a system which is already flawed is asking for trouble in the long term.

Yoshi-p has limited himself now though in saying he wouldn't wipe characters, but then can't blame him as the out cry if he did would be deafening.

if i leveled a conjuruer, i want to be a conjurer, not a black mage/white mage or whatever you think they should change it too

there are way better solutions then just changing the entire job, and giving someone the level in that job instead, itd piss alot of people off, more then if they just added to the system(which wont piss people off but moreso just give them alternatives or choices)

People need to start looking at the bigger picture, the game hasn't done well. Yes there are many other reasons as to why it hasn't done well, it wasn't just the class system. However over 85% of people that completed the survey voted for DRASTIC CHANGE.

an overhaul of the combat system doesnt mean overhaul the jobs themselves

the only reason people want classic jobs, is because they are familiar with them, not because its a better system

But if losing 2000 current players by making this change gains them 10000 more players then it is something that they will consider. I am not saying that scrapping the system will do this of course I am just saying that they may be prepared to do it if they think enough people will come back if they were to scrap and rebuild.

as i said, an overhaul of the battle system =/= an overhaul of the classes scrapping what we currently have, its very easy to see that

Did I say people would react like that, it would never be as simple as taking out CON and replacing with BLM.

For me I would be more happy as I have said many times before if they got rid of weapon=class and made proper jobs not the mish mash that we have now. Leave weapons for learning weapon skills only and keep the weapon skills tied to the weapon. Then have proper classes, so take CON split it into WHM and BLM and do whatever is necessary with the other classes to make them more Final Fantasy style. You could still allow cross class abilities and skills but also add traits to the classes that were unique. So for BLM you could have something to boost it's elemental nukes, WAR it could have double attack as one of it's traits, PLD would have one that boosts it's defence, DRK one to boost it's attack and so on.

Then of course allow me to transfer my total accumulated SP onto the new classes of my choice.

But that is just what I want, I could very well be in the minority with what I want and have to accept that. However I could very well be in the majority and then it is something SE would have to look into.
