There is a difference, if you are only leveling a healer for roulette queues then you obviously pick the one that you have to invest the least amount of time into.

I can’t imagine the Venn diagram of “notices a significant and meaningful difference between level 50 and level 90 healers that improves their perception of gameplay” and “regularly plays an off job for roulettes to makes queues go faster” has very significant overlap

Especially because the majority of those in the former group have been taught by Facebook and mainsub to be scared of shield healers for……reasons

They need a healer at max level for roulettes, so they pick the healer that requires the least amount of investment to get it to max level, it's really not that complicated.

This has never been about noticing a difference, that was only a comment from my perspective because I despise playing any job below max level, the job kits below 90 are incredibly clunky and often not even coherrent.

And why would they be scared of shield healers? They just don't make use of those, they just spam Diagnosis and whatever oGCD they happen to accidentally hit. The state of "casual" content in this game is at a point where you can play Sage like a pure healer and do just fine.

This group of people that you are referring to just doesn’t make any logical sense as to their existence

Because tank queues aren't actually that good in Endwalker. Even when tank was the supposed "adventurer in need" it still took 15 minutes for the queue to pop, whereas healers got instant queues.
But adventurer in need provides bonuses that you might want to take advantage of anyway, so having one of each role is beneficial.

Depends on the server on that front

And again if you are levelling multiple jobs to maximise adventurer in need I think you are a bit beyond playing SGE as a pure healer

These people do exist, I was one of them. I wanted a healer for roulettes in Stormblood, since Sage didn't exist I leveled AST as my first healer just so I could skip 29 levels.

And I cruised my way to 70 by hitting random buttons. Until I did my first run of Skalla, in just enough gear to hit the minimum ilvl, with a warrior that pulled absolutely everything (in 4.0 before the warrior rework) and we promptly wiped.
