Why pick a healer at all then, you are still using 5 skills at Level 90

At level 40 you are using ruin, bio, AOW whispering dawn and lustrate
At level 90 you are using broil 4, biolysis, AOW2, whispering dawn and sacred soil

Two simple reasons, 1. fast queue times 2. most people don't even engage with the gameplay enough to realize how awful the healer design, or really any of the more recent design, actually is.

Best example is the 2 minute meta, most people who complain about the atrocious design of "just hit everything on cooldown" that Endwalker brought us already had a firm grasp on XIV's combat before this change, they most likely already dabbled in fight optimization and buff alignment when it actually took effort.

Your average MSQ enjoyer just presses random buttons at inconsistent timings and never notices anything wrong, they probably don't even know what the 2 minute meta is.
