I feel like this should also be from subforum to subforum. The Lore subforum we'll often get people finding old information that a lot of us forgot from in the archives, or new info will bring an old thread back into the limelight. It would be a shame for old threads to be locked there just because new information is given outside of the time frame.
You've ended up with the wrong person on the quote tag there, but yes, there's value in keeping threads open because they can go dormant and then become relevant again and the conversation picks back up again. I've been on other forums that lock "inactive" threads and it just kills discussions in slow-moving parts of the forum.I feel like this should also be from subforum to subforum. For the Lore section, yes, that shouldn't be locked because the lore doesn't change with updates to the game. Since a LOT of the necros are happening to things that have changed, or being done to things with comments that are basically making fun of people, the General Discussion definitely needs to have threads locked after a stretch of time of them being inactive.
But again, that could also be solved with the moderators actually stopping those specific threads in their tracks – ideally when first posted, and certainly once they've been bumped for no good purpose besides reawakening the argument. It's not hard to see what's going on with them. For the Lore section, yes, that shouldn't be locked because the lore doesn't change with updates to the game. hmm, tbh, I've had multiple borderline sexual GIFs get removed pretty fast.
To the point I dont even bother with certain GIFs anymore... because, hey, at least I know there IS a boundary somewhere.
Crackpot theory. Maybe Titanmen, GaiusDrakon, and Skiros have been a mod rep going incognito all along just to mess with people because they were that bored at their job.
Like we’d believe that, you still have a naked hottie in your signature and the account is still here
IMO, as someone who's come from overly moderated boards where everyone's scared to say anything that isn't strictly on topic, the less heavy handed mods are the better. Even if it means dealing with an occasional troll thread for a day or two until it's purged.
