    At the end of the day I don't think any of the self sustain or role problems would be that big of a deal if the content were interesting and challenging enough. We're just fighting for scraps here because normal duty design in SE is done by picking up the first people that walk by SE's building and asking them to run through the dungeon without explaining anything.

    Such horrible and noobish design should be reserved for the first few dungeons in ARR and maybe the first dungeon every expansion for skip buyers. But after that it should always ramp up continuously until hitting max level for that expac, with expert roulettes being midcore.

    Again, Stormblood, being the best era for gameplay shined in this regard too.

    True, Im mean my wish is just to have an overhaul in combat design but thats not very likely to happen now is it?

    So the next best thing if we're going to keep this design, is to at the very least make it so that tanks need healers no matter what and healers can feel useful in harder content and have the satisfaction of needing to use their fun healing buttons rather than relying on spamming 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 like 80% of the time.

    What I, personally, thinks makes healing fun and interesting is the choice between "do I, personally, in this moment deal damage, directly, myself" versus "do I, personally, cast <something> on my party mates, so that they're in a better position to continue dealing more damage."

    Put another way, what I, personally, thinks making healing fun and interesting is deciding, moment to moment, how best to enable the party as a whole to deal the most damage possible

    I originally felt this way when I started playing healer, but then you soon realize that window decision making for damage vs healing gets wider and wider, aka. you realize that you occasionally pop in a heal while you majorly focus on damage, rather than the other way around.

    They could never give healers another healing spell or ability and we would still be fine. The over abundance of healing skills is quite ridiculous.
    What are they going to give WHM for the level 100 capstone, AoE Benediction?

    WHM should get the AST Collecetive Unconscious bubble that we see CNJ Y'shtola and Kan-e-Senna using at various points in the game. At least that'd add something to the kit. :P

    I'd most likely never touch it. There are already a few spells I generally only use if I remember they exist because I just don't need them.
