And the beauty of XI is that you can make a lot of stuff work and still have diversity. Something XIV struggles with on a fundamental level.


    In XI you were happy to see others,
    in XIV you see them as a hindrance to your personal FFlogs.

    I think this is one of the things I did and currently still love about XI was that you can experiment, one of the more recent things I did a few years ago in Reisenjima was trio one of the T3 as Run/Geo/Cor which at the time was considered to be extremely tough to do. A crowd showed up and just watched us take attempts at it until we managed to get it down and it was really fun and encouraging. I think people are focusing on XI from 2007-2011 when the current game is a lot more accessible but it still has the core things that make it fun such as proper buff management, skill chains, magic bursts etc. Combat in XIV just feels nowhere near as fun for me but I’m sure someone will pop in to tell me how I’m wrong and how all the homologized jobs are better in XIV currently.
