it works both waysIt's funny how when an influencer is mindlessly praising the game they're wielded as a bludgeon to dismiss critical feedback and yet when an influencer is expressing concern regarding the state of the game as an actual game suddenly their opinion is treated as irrelevant.
I can't stand streamers. I think they're one of the worst things to happen to gaming - but that aside, her concerns are very valid and shared by many here.
I'm seen people here consider her and others such as Mr happy shills and paid by SE so they only have positive things to say.
Now their opnions are "valid" and shared by "many."
I am sorry but... who is Zepla? I don't mean this as "Who the hell is she to speak for the community", I am legitimately asking, I never heard of the name before so I don't know why she'd be relevant.
You don't know me very well at all. But thanks for your baseless opinion I guess.
If the game was actually down to 1000 players and being closed, I'd say "oh what a shame." I'm not someone who is delusional.
I do think that these forums are the most negative places to discuss FFXIV out of any community I've seen on the internet, so I do take what is popular here with a grain of salt.
If I personally wanted to be more popular on these forums, I have enough awareness to know that I should join in on the complaining bandwagon.

So the current player count almost equals the max player count of some expansions (on steam) and yet the players are disliking it because the player spike is higher for Endwalker? So hypothetically, if steam count hit 10,000,000 and then dropped to 1,000,000, that would be a massive drop, would you still say that the drop is all that matters?
It's like everyone has completely forgotten that games not named Final Fantasy 14 even exist. Instead of asking for infinite content here, which isn't even possible, play a different game while you wait for more content here.
thank you for the amazing take, I'll take the 3 days of content that FFXIV offers (if i'm slow and play about an hour a day) and then move on to another game for the next 4 to 4.5 months, what a great recipe you have, actual genius
what could go wrong I wonder
I wouldn't mind if you did this.
That is what remains to be seen. We do not know if 7.0 will exceed the population of EW which was riding high on huge PR and passive marketing from the WOW Exodus, and so that would mean for the first time the game did not grow. I surely hope we didn't peak at end of SHB and beginning of EW.So the current player count almost equals the max player count of some expansions (on steam) and yet the players are disliking it because the player spike is higher for Endwalker? But it is clear more people are quitting the game than ever as well. The only point im making is that the expansion itself did not retain as many players from the initial release as the previous ones did from a percentage perspective.
