It feels like the game is in maintenance mode now and many of us are sadly, starting to think that the game has peaked and we are on the downhill slide.

If this game is SE’s most important game, it really does not feel like it anymore. None of us are excited for 6.4, instead we feel more of a very sad sense of apathy. By the time 7.0 arrives… I do not know if any of us will remain, and that, for me, is the saddest thing.
I feel like SE is really testing the playerbase to see how many of them will stay subbed even with a content drought. I don't think SE will ever let the game completely fail because it rakes in plenty of cash, and they'll keep the game just alive enough to make some money. Low sub count? Let's add some content. Sub count is high enough? Lets put in minimal effort.

Do you know how long it takes to develop content? It's planned usually 1-2 years in advance. It's simply not in touch with reality to think content development is based patch-by-patch on sub counts.

Also, EW has the highest player population ever, and even the between-patch "troughs" are significantly higher than they were in any previous expansion. Not to mention completely new ideas like Variant Dungeons are still regularly being introduced. This game is the polar opposite of "just alive" right now.
