How many years did SE have to fix the housing issue again ? It's been since the beginning that it was a failed system.

Also if you dont think auto demo is built in to keep subscriptions, then what is it for ? Do you really think SE doesnt have the means to fix housing if they wanted to ? It's obvious that you dont care about housing, and that's fine, a lot of people do, and a house is a big deal to them, and if they dont have it they'd rather quit permanently than come back to the game without it. Auto demo and housing is MADE to keep people subscribed, and it forces people to keep an all year subscription even if they dont play the game, because if they care about housing in the slightest, they wont leave as they wont be able to get their houses back, especially if they are mediums or large.

And just in case you respond "it's to make people be able to get houses while kicking inactives" that would imply they care about housing, just a tiny little bit, which they dont, if you want evidence of that : https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...n-t-Okay-Is-It

That house was never fixed, the FC was never contacted, and it got HUNDREDS of reports, and the house is still up to this day, with the furnitures glitched into the house on the top, completely clipping in their garden and removing like 50% of the area that that plot has.
Auto-Demo is there to clear up the Housing Plots when people go inactive for X amount of time, to make space and room for people who are currently active to be able to get a house. Since, again, as I already said, the Housing system is Garbage. (Hey look, your Prediction came true)
My point isnt that I dont care about housing, my point is If Im not playing the game and I dont want to pay for it, Im not going to keep paying and logging in, just for an In-Game House. I make that point Very Clear every single time I make this post XD

That last bit...just sounds like a Bug. Dont know why its a point in this discussion

https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...n-t-Okay-Is-It That my friend is not a bug, that's someone glitching on purpose to prevent people from bidding on the plot and to harass the owner of the house on top of them, the bidding process didnt work in their favor because it got a LOT of publicity, and hundreds of reports, so people bid on it, but the house is still up to this day, it is not a bug, it's extreme third party usage and abuse of them

Also, auto demo wouldnt be needed if they fixed housing, you are missing the entire point, they have the means to fix housing, they dont WANT to because then they can keep auto demo which is racking in money every month from people forced to stay subscribed if they dont want to lose their house

    Glitches are basically Bugs.
That Sometimes can be exploited as done in many videogames & Speedruns, or in this case.

Dude that's not achievable through in game glitching, that is straight-up forbidden third party use lol.

We get a thing, we give suggestions to the thing, they do the opposite thing. Players like you say we never gave suggestions. We (now) get a mod to (sorta) fix the thing. Repeat. My post history is a wiki if you dare search for my suggestions.

All of the issues we see today have been happening in slow motion from even HW. We've been watching this slow train crash for the past 5 years. Their development cycle has the reaction time of a.. Well, a JP company.

When their devs end up working on side projects to fix issues in the game in their spare time.. You know SE/Yoshi priorities are messed up.

And before you come at me about our player numbers, and successful Expac release, XIV has been showing the exact same patterns WoW was. They're literally copying everything WoW has done, but 10 years in the past. Endwalker is just Warlords of Draenor. It's also the point in time they get way too comfortable, start shifting people and money around off of the project over to other stuff.

Remember why 2013 SE failed and had to restructure? It was COMPLACENCY
They were riding the high for too long, thought they could do no wrong.

Maybe Im different, idk, if Im not playing the game anymore and dont wanna pay for it, then, bye.
I wont Financially shackle myself to a game for something like that. A house in a Videogame just is not -That- Important to me.

But I guess you could say rent for it is cheaper then IRL rent XD
While I don't doubt removing inactive house owners is a factor, if it were the only consideration they wouldn't make it a relatively short 45 days which just so happens to make it impossible to unsub during a full patch cycle. If they implemented it in such a way that demolition only happened during the launch of a new major patch (say 6.4 for argument sake) then I'd be inclined to agree they're just doing it to clean out long lapsed players. Keep in mind, Yoshida once said they would never force players to remain subbed to keep their houses. Someone even has that exact quote in their signature. Now he may still feel that way but I suspect Square Enix doesn't. After all, the company as a whole has long been pretty slimy about chasing money trends.

I'll say it again for the people in the back.

Nothing in their formula has changed in the past 4 years because they don't listen.
Gearing sucks because they don't listen.
Variant is dead because they don't listen.
Eureka is impossible to coop because they don't listen.
FATEs still suck because they don't listen.
Roulettes are still ARR because they don't listen.
We're still doing daily Praetorium because they don't listen.
They continue to cull our Jobs because they don't listen.
Healing sucks because they don't listen.
Mogstation releases suck because they don't listen.
Dungeons are just hallways now because they don't listen.
Housing is still FOMO and sucks because they don't listen.
Adventure Plates are horrible and buggy still because they don't listen.
Open world is still dead because they don't listen.
They think Materia is a good reward because they don't listen.
Everything is a slow mess with confirmation boxes every 2 seconds because they don't listen.
They don't know what engaging gameplay is because they don't listen.

We mod FFXIV because they don't listen.

Ok so in that context I can see the mindset. I dont read people signatures, so if somebody said that, -WHOOSH- over my head.
But ultimately when I say "Its silly" I mean..."Really, you arnt playing the game, why would you continue to pay for it? If its so bad that you dont wanna pay, then why are you still paying?" and to use a Videogame house as an excuse...just feels silly to me. But again, thats just me.
I shouldnt have to, but Im just going to say it again...the Housing System is Garbage. It Would be nice if they made a solution, but its been about a decade so...

I wanna pretend the Solution could be Apartments. But unless they do things like give you a Deck or something to act as a pseudo-Garden, it just wont fix the issue.
But then at that point, Instanced Housing would probly be the solution. Bah who knows. As bad of an excuse as it is, the legacy 1.0 coding I guess just wont allow it.

They clearly do listen, which is why they did stuff like adding some female-only glamour to males. I think this is mostly a budget issue. FF14 is not getting the budget it deserves from SE.
