I was very disappointed with the second step of the combat relics.

I was really hoping for some 70 alliance raid or 80 alliance raid grinds to fill in those slots. I was with a friend for those queing for those raids on chaos for 2 hours the other day. That's unacceptable, no matter what the time is.

I was also hoping that if it was not the raids, then SHB / EW fates to populate the zones - but nope!

I think we forget that quite a few people can max on preferred servers in a few months of playing. This is an MMO, ppl will max then cancel their sub until the next major patch, so SE lose out on money.

I've played since 2.0 and I'm really disappointed they did this.

This is why we need people to start actually taking a step back and looking at the general perspective rather than focusing whats in front of them.

It would be nice, but I think we both know it has a very low possibility of actually happening. Not that it would stop most of those who already complain from doing so.

Everything else has crashed with EO, multiple bardings, rare pets.

Most of us knew the XVI development would hurt XIV. We just didn't know how much but luckily, now we do.

There's still content you can do, but if that content appeals to you or not is the big question

Rerunning old content, lvling DoH or DoL or doing ultimates is what it boils down to

Not the first time, probably won't be the last. Not surprising to me.

The white knight brigade is out in full force again.

I think 6.35 was enough to get people on the fence to admit that we've been having several bad patches in a row. On the first few days after it launched, there were a bunch of people posting about how it was a letdown (rightfully so), so the white knights have been working overtime to try and do some damage control.

The white knight brigade is out in full force again. Right there with you OP, the game desperately needs long term content and this is why Endwalker feels like the most barren expansion yet. I felt the decline in Shadowbringers already but this is on a whole another level. Now we finally get longer form content with EO but what's even the point of doing it when you can just get a better weapon by farming some tomes? It's like we're in oppositeland where the relic is handed to you for nothing and you have to actually put in effort to get a weapon from deep dungeon that's inferior in every way. How do they manage to release content in the same damn patch that completely cannibalize one another... That just completely deflates my interest in the content alltogether. No one is running content just for the sake of doing it, that's why no one is doing variant/criterion anymore. This expansion has been so barren in content that I feel you'd had to have been actively avoiding leveling to not have all combat jobs at 90 by now, so there goes the leveling aspect too.

I don't even know what to think of the "relic" of this expansion. I mean as someone who plays multiple jobs it's nice that they're easy to get but farming tomes is not interesting, that's what everyone's been doing since the game came out. It just feels lazy and uninspired, like they're not even pretending to try anymore. No one in their right mind can even call this relic content, in fact this is the most pitiful noncontent for a relic we've seen yet.

I don't know if it's XVI soaking up all the time and resources or what but I haven't seen a decline this sharp in content in the game yet and I've been playing since the phase 3 of the ARR beta, not to say we haven't had issues with the subject in the past, many many a time.

Im by all means not trying to defend the game in whats happened as I clearly do with they added more incentive to run everything they've created....but the amount of people here who can't see outside their narrow view to the wider perspective is just smacking head on the wall worthy I swear haha.

I don't know if it's XVI soaking up all the time and resources or what but I haven't seen a decline this sharp in content in the game yet and I've been playing since the phase 3 of the ARR beta, not to say we haven't had issues with the subject in the past, many many a time.

This is my general take, too. We don't know whether FFXVI is taking up resources away from FFXIV or not, but given the game's history, I'd be inclined to believe so. People like Koji Fox and Soken mysteriously stopped making appearances on FFXIV - who were some of the most visible figures in the community - and the quality of the overall patches also feels different.

I've been playing the game for roughly the same time as you, and I think this is the first time I've felt completely bereft of things to do. Even HW's 3.1 (which was pretty bad), still managed to grab my attention in one form or another.

But then you have people come out of the woodwork saying things like "Have you cleared Ultimate?" "Have you gotten the Accursed Hoard achievement?" "Have you done X, Y and Z?" If not then stop complaining. Only to finish their statements with a "Yoshi-P said we should take a break and he's looking after us. He's so kind uwu." Usually coming from someone who started playing a year or two ago, too.

I agree with this, they could have at least tied it to EO past floor 31 to fill the PF with runs after you couldn't match make.

They usually do it to fill content but it has completely missed the mark this time.
