Tomestones.. Again.. for a relic..

In my opinion the best way would be a Eureka style zone in the 6.x5 patch (but one that allowed you to queue for stuff whilst inside and we know they can do it because it works in Island Sanctuary).

And then the next numbered patch (so 6.4) they add a tomestone grind as a way of catching up so people dont get left behind.

Whilst have mixed opinions where this is concerned, I am going to acknowledge the irony of the fact that the 'Realms' quests actually provided something of a 4th wall scenario with regard to Tomestones:

I'm very happy with this and idk how anyone could call it "devs being lazy" lmao. The instruction "gather 1.5k more tomes of astronomy" takes no more effort than "grind 60 FATEs in areas that aren't event current-content." It's a refreshing change of pace. Anyone dying for the grueling relic grind of past expansions can go start another weapon from a past expansion.

I hated it, I’ve done ARR relic I’ve done HW and ShB I’ve done part of stormblood. Yeah I expected a little more in terms of variety this step but being told do what I like to get tomes to get my next stage again is way better then go to stormblood zones and get 15 of something which drop from fares 20% of the time. I know people say hunts would make this trivial but not everyone does them so outside of that it is a timesink to do multiple classes and multiple stages. The key issue is for people that really run one class then it hits them the hardest and I completely get it.

The Relic steps should be unique and make you experience different pieces of content in-game.

Sorry you don’t like it. Seems perfectly balanced now for me. It’s a nice change after grinds in Stormblood and Shadowbringers. Why does everything have to be a grind?

Yes but after thinking about this I'll take a tomestone grind to running LOTA or Orbonne etc ad naueum for tokens/drops whatever which is certainly not fun in my view. I can still remember vividly running Quarn Hard 50 times before i got my relic drop. I am not a fan of the HW blueprint for relic and In lieu of a real Exploratory Zone or totally new relic focused content I'll do my hunts and tomestone grind and be happy with it.

For me I hope exploratory zones will be back in 7.0. Certainly too late for that and hopefully not too late for the team to rethink this and give them back to us with the new xpac.
