Time to Remove Ward FC/Individual Restrictions

Or you could make housing accessible to players who are here now and raising the gil now instead of just assuming things. Houses open up over time. The ratio between FC plots and individuals plots clearly needs to be adjusted. It's just that simple. If the ratio is updated in favor of private buyers and later there are FC complaints then they can wait just like we have or SE can then add an exclusive FC ward just for them. That can't possibly cause issues for the game.

I also don't see where you're getting this 1 to 2 weeks figure from when players ITT are telling you in their case there have been vacant FC plots with 0 bids for weeks already. Who exactly is going to come? Are genuine new guilds even created that quickly and raising the requisite amount of gil to buy and furnish a house? I just don't believe that.

It would have an effect down the line, for sure. If all remaining FC plots were converted to privates, they would all be bought up within a week or two, genuinely. You just got involved in housing, it's fine that you aren't aware yet of how things work. All of those houses would be bought up (because there is a much larger demand for private houses, regardless of size). I remember when we first got Empy added and every single plot in every ward on Adamantoise that was available to private bids was taken. Devs can make the choice to change the ward assignment but it will cause an FC shortage once people who do make an FC want a house (and yes, they are still made daily) and ultimately can't. It's important to have availability for both sides, not sacrifice one for the other. Moving is an option you can consider since Dynamis still has hundreds of private houses available.

Also, yes, it's entirely possible to make that gil in a day. It's really not hard.

If we're going to get ward assignment swaps, it probably wouldn't be till a patch update anyway. So, sit tight.

But as a relatively new player when I hear from friends particular wards have been empty or semi empty for weeks, or in some cases months, my perception is that these plots aren't going to get filled at a satisfactory rate. The demand simply is not there. And I don't agree that new FCs will pop up. I think any FCS holding out right now want MD and LG houses and that problem is simply never going to go away. Hopefully you are correct and the next patch will have updates. However I am going to complain wherever I can not to be obnoxious, but because I want my voice to be counted when devs are reviewing player feedback. You are correct that opening up more private bidding will mean more houses get bought, but I don't see that as a problem. FC housing does not need to remove entirely, the ratio simply needs to be re balanced in favor of private buyers. Demand for housing is obviously higher than availability so there will be never be a perfect solution, but our current solution just does not work imo.

It already is balanced in favor of private buyers, the fc wards are only 7 (1 to 6) and ward 30 for fc only, that makes it 7 wards out of 30 are fc only, the rest is hybrid or personal only. And as the post you quoted said, those houses will fill in a single round, it's not a solution.

That's because they already converted a whole lot of those FC-only wards to allow private buyers as well, because there weren't any FCs buying those plots after months. When Empyreum released 18 out of 24 wards were FC only, this was retroactively applied to all housing districts and then had to be changed again, turns out there aren't actually that many FCs that wanted a plot.

It also just gave rise to a massive amount of 1 person FCs because why would I compete with 30+ people per private plot when I can just make an FC and easily get one in the exclusive wards?

That want a small plot. Considering my neighbor is sitting on a personal large that he does nothing with (said he got it just because he could), I am cool with FCs having a bit of protection for a few months until things balance out. There are so many indiv buyers out there. Of course I am also on Mateus, so empty wards on other DCs leave me gobsmacked.

Majority of FC plots fill via one person FCs. There is no shortage.

It's not like we have to get rid of all of the FC only wards either, like OP says. Even removing the restrictions from just half of them would still leave plenty of open plots for FCs in the future.
