VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

Maybe I'm in the minority, but when it comes to Viera specifically I'm much more satisfied with getting the existing and future Modern Aesthetics than I am new racial hairs. With Covid on the rise during Endwalker's development in Shadowbringers I think new Viera/Hrothgar styles would have been one of the first ideas to get scrapped/delayed (along with the second Ultimate, Dragonsong) in favour of just being able to release content. We probably wouldn't have started getting hair updates until 6.0 and even then likely wouldn't have received more than 3 hairstyles total for each, one each major patch.

Throughout Shadowbringers all I wanted was access to the hairstyles everybody else already had and the new ones they were receiving every patch. I went through enough new Modern Aesthetics releases and Moogle events where all I could do was get the item and use it with a little prayer that maybe someday I would have access to it on my character. New racial hairstyles wouldn't have resolved that problem for me even if they might have made it sting a bit less.

Concerning Hrothgar, yeah, I agree even getting 3 new racial exclusive hairstyles made to cater exactly to their racial details between 6.0 and now would have been better than what happened. Hrothgar aren't humanoid so some of the feminine, human-shaped hairs just look off on them (2B, Controlled Chaos.) Then there was the Eartastrophy of 2022. Hrothgar truly haven't always been treated with the respect its players deserve, and seeing even 3 hairstyle made only for them instead would have been a case of quality > quantity.

Unfortunately it seems to be Hrothgars' lot in life to be treated exactly the same way as male Vieras when they aren't male Vieras. On the bright side some of the new styles look really good in my opinion, but we know there's a huge list that won't look so good and I do wish there was some way to vote/communicate what styles Hrothgar players want the most so they can forget the rest and use the remaining resources on creating even one or two new styles for all Hrothgars.
