You really making it sound like Diablo III is the end of the world for all other games. Others already have stated that they do not care about Diablo III. Personally I do not give a crap about Diablo III myself. Besides that Diablo III is not a MMORPG, so it will not compete with FFXIV or WoW. It will have a small impact the first few weeks, but I doubt people will cancel their MMORPG subscriptions because Diablo III is released.

You really should stop thinking that your opinion is the only proper opinion at those forums. You make it look like it is a fact that Diablo III will "steal" members from FFXIV or any other MMORPG. You are just guessing, nothing more, nothing less. So please stop trying to sell your opinion as a fact, since your opinion on this matter is not shared by the majority of the FFXIV community.

Also, I can not remember any singleplayer game since I started playing FFXI that even tempted me to quit. The only game that will make me cancel my subscription for maybe one month would be a 1080p remake of Final Fantasy 7.

While i do agree single player games wont do anything towards the mmo market, let us not forget that other AAA MMOs are coming soon.

The clock is ticking on ffxiv recovery . Saying otherwise would be just a lie,, to yourself and the community.
in the end there are 4 type of people currently playing .

1 - those who are playing couse is F2P. This type brings no income.
2 -Those who play because for them ffxiv is better than anything else in the market for the time being.
3 -Those who are still on the early stages of the game, hence having fun for some time until they get bored and move on.
4 - those who wont stop playing ffxiv no matter what.

I think 2 and 3 would leave for a good and polished MMO as soon as it comes out unless the recovery processes happens before new releases, wich is unlikely.

1 brings no income , and 4 is to few.

Like i said , time it is runing out .
I wish for the best for this game but realistically speaking the chances to recover are slim.I hope we do recover tough.

Again, you too are trying to sell your opinion as a fact. What clock are you talking about? There is no clock ticking, at least not for me. What MMOs are you talking about anyway? Guild Wars 2? That one will not be released before 2012. TERA online? Probably will not make 2012 either. What is left?

People should simply look at FFXIV as a beta, until the PS3 version is released. If they release the PS3 version and still have a bad gameplay, no content and not enough subscribers we can talk about a ticking clock. Right now there is no ticking clock, at least not for me.

You guys are making up imaginary ticking clocks or whatever and pressure yourself, the community and the developers for no reason. If someone wants to go play Wow, just go an play. If you want to go play Diablo 3, just go and play. There is no need to keep announcing it here, it will not change anything.

Personally I do think that FFXIV has at least until late 2011 to get everything working and release the PS3 (early 2012 latest). If they are still as messy one year after Yoshi took over we can start talking about clocks and if they are ticking or not. Right now there is no such thing ... at least not for me ... I can not and will not talk for the whole community like you guys tend to do.

The "ticking clock" expression involves urgency. He talked about "end of 2011" at the earliest, and there's very little urgency in that. Ergo, I don't see a contradiction.

I'm quite sure that by the end of 2011 (actually quite a lot before, I would more say by the end of the summer) this game will have evolved quite a lot already. For the better or the worse, time will tell.

I am talking about almost 9 to 12 months from now. I do not see a urgency there, do you?

I am just using my brains and try to guess how long it would take any company to fix a game this broken. Like I said in my post above. The patches are not just about adding content or adjusting small mechanics or fixing bugs. They are basically redeveloping certain big and important parts of the game (maps, battle, classes). So it is not more than fair to give Yoshi at least one year before we draw our final conclusions.

I am giving them a year, while you and some others don't even give them a week after the disasters in Japan. The servers came up as soon as they could get them up. As soon as the servers were up they released patch notes and still you and some others had the balls to make a topic about it to tell us how bad the patch was.

I am actually playing. It is not that hard to write while you are crafting.

How does that quote of yours make me a blind ass? I am not saying the game is perfect. I am not saying they shouldn't change anything. All I am saying is that the guy is an obvious troll (if you think troll is insulting then I might be an ass, but at least not a blind one ...)

As far as I know it was pretty clear that the numbered patches are the ones with more content and that the .a and .b patches are small tweaks to the content added with those numbered patches.

So someone making a thread like this after patch 1.16a patch notes were released is a troll in my eyes. I would have replied in a normal way if he had made this thread after 1.17 or 1.18, but making such a thread after 1.16a just shows me that Abriael that posted the quote below is right, especially about the bold part.

Also, there's a big difference between "stirring up" and intentionally spreading negativity and FUD, every single day, always looking for (often completely out of line, like in this case) excuses to do so, without a single spec of constructiveness.

Um is my first post on this thread so idk were that "again" comes from.
    Anyways,
Everything here is in fact " opinions".I think is pretty redundant to put everytime i say anything "in my opinion".
Im talking for me and the people i know. the game right now is boring after you reach level 50 kill nms and level other classes. All that is left is rinse and repeat. The is a beta only takes us so far, people get bored and leave. You know i been doing the same 3 thins for the last 2 months .
    1-do leves/behest
    2-kill nm
    3-craft.

Thats all there is to do ,so please tell me , how exactly would people stay if somewere else they get offered more than this.this game needs big changes.

Also , i never said when is the deadline for this, yourself say ffxiv have until late 2011.
How exactly is that different from what i said ? lol.

I apologize, I mixed you up with someone else, really sorry.

The thing here is that you assume people will leave as soon as something else comes looking around the corner. I think that is not the case. That is the main thing we don't agree on.

You were talking about a ticking clock, which makes me think that there is some kind of rush/urgency. I am giving it almost a year, that is the difference.

That doesn't mean I think the game is great. God, no .... the game is a mess, but it got potential. We just need to take a deep breath, consider this a beta we paid $60 to get into and stop going crazy about it.

    I agree.
more or less thats how long the game have , i would give it till fall this year imo.More or less.that is enough time to change from beta --> real game. The game wont magicaly "fix" itself.

Altought i gotta say , latest fixes have not been very promising .So far the only update 100% from the "new team" is the agro indicator,( the rest to my eyes have been tweaks, fixes and content already planned by the old team)and personally i hate the agro dot.
