Yes. They will. Thank you for making my point.I am sorry just seems weird to pay so much attention to the potential harm of a tool, because people will misuse the tool.
Alternatively, perhaps an official personal-only damage meter which only shows your own dps could be acceptable. This would allow players playing on consoles to measure their own performance as they are unable to use external dps meters and being personal only, players will not be able to use it to abuse other players.
An official damage meter which showcases everyone's damage is a definite no-no.
Please don't add damage meters, Yoshi P.
"Link screenshots of all your meters or be kicked"Alternatively, perhaps an official personal-only damage meter which only shows your own dps could be acceptable.
No.
I didn't say not to do it, i'm just saying it's gonna happen. At that point the reasoning for shaming someone is subjective. Does the person have low dps? Who cares if the content is so easy it's cleared regardless. You can say you are "carrying" the person but if you don't like carrying anyone then feel free to kick. I'm just saying that shaming is going to happen with or without a dps meter. You don't need a dps meter to see the summoner who spends half of the fight spamming ruin and sitting at 8 on the hate list to know that the player isn't bringing great dps, lol.
People say damage meters will make people get toxic, but honestly, I've seen so much toxicity over the lack of damage meters and in-game information on what happened in a fight.
Because you can't mention ACT, especially in casual scenarios it's very easy for people to throw the blame around. Damage meters + an in-game review showing damage taken and taken from what sources, along with healing would be helpful for avoiding that childishness.
I've dealt with more immature hostilities from casuals regarding party performance issues than I have with elitists.

Again, logs are extremely accessible in current day savage/ultimate community and your strawman scenario almost never happens. People are mostly interested in logs when you need to prove you actually cleared some fights or reached a certain phase, as the achievements on Lodestone only care about last floor clears. And I'd say it's fair game? Why wouldn't you want to check if someone you don't know is telling the truth about their experience with the game?
Also numbers on a screenshot could be faked so easily I don't think anyone would actually bother to ask for them.

What? if anything casual content is definitely the place where meters would never be put. There's no reason to ever have damage meters in sastasha ever. There's no reason to have them on Alliance raids or Story Dungeons. None of those have enrages so your DPS does not matter.People say damage meters will make people get toxic, but honestly, I've seen so much toxicity over the lack of damage meters and in-game information on what happened in a fight.

Damage meters would not only contribute nothing, but add to the toxicity as you'd be tacitly allowing someone to have a meltdown if the other person in their sastasha run didn't have full uptaime, and made the boss take 10 seconds more.
I don't think they're even needed in Extremes or Savages, I've never needed them on anything. But for sure, talking about putting them in casual content is so far beyond the scope of what people are talking about that it will definitely never happen.
