+1 to this. Nothing brings this forum more alive (in a good way) than asking questions about random small tidbits of lore.
Also highly recommend cautiously diving deep into lore on your own. Besides the 2 Encyclopedia Eorzea books, lore interviews from fan fests can be found on YouTube and somewhat copied out on different sites. The blog Mirke's Menagerie on Tumblr is a very good source when looking into specific topics. The owner categorized everything neatly and everything is sourced with the dialogue from the game, book, or interview the passage came from.
If you have the time or know what you're looking for, Gamer Escape and Garland Tools are good resources for finding exact game dialogue. I also might use YouTube to find dialogue in certain cutscenes. Someone managed to take every single scene that has an Ascian in it and put it together in a giant supercut and that has been helpful.
A lot of RP forums and discords I have seen out in the wild may be good resources, but they may also be very misleading and full of fanon that gets passed around so much that people think it's canon. There's a particular Miqo'te RP discord that has some good info, but often passes around a lot of untruths so you need to be careful about where you're looking and make sure it's sourced from the game and not just made up. Pretty much any time one of my friends has asked me about Miqo'te lore and I told them I don't remember that in the game, it ends up that it came from that discord server.
And lastly, if you're super into wanting to get into FFXIV lore, just know that it's not quite as in depth as say Warcraft or Elder Scrolls lore and a lot of it, especially from 1.0, is subject to change whenever the writers need it to change. A lot is made up whenever they need something new as well so the lore feels less like a fully realized setting that a game is being played in, and more of a setting whose rules and history are being determined by the game as we go along.
